General:

  • Plugin renamed to MIRFEE (Music Information Retrieval Feature-Extracting Ensemble [Classifier]).
  • WMNT renamed to WMAT (Whistle and Moan Annotation Tool). Associated files also renamed to ".wmat", but .wmnt files are still compatible.
  • .mirrffe and .mirrfts files renamed to .mfe and .mtsf, respectively, although files with the old extensions are still compatible.
  • Added warning message for when required Python libraries are not found.

Feature Extractor:

  • For spectral contrast, individual bands can be selected as opposed to calculating a value from all bands at once.
  • Formants are now extracted from STFT frames, although the option to extract them from the full clip as one frame is still available.
  • Fixed significant synchronization issues.
  • Fixed bug where the clustering algorithm wouldn't work if .wmat files were used as input data, resulting in all detections being in single-detection clusters.
  • Fixed bug where pressing the OK button in the settings dialog in Viewer Mode would cause an exception by attempting to start the Python interpreter.

Classifiers:

  • "Aliases" call now be applied to class labels in the Live Classifier, in order for detections included under a training set's label that are labelled differently in the WMAT to be counted correctly (e.g. "SRKW", "NRKW", etc. when the training set includes all killer whale detections under "KW").
  • Certainty metric has been changed from "lead" score (first-place score minus second-place score) to just the first-place score and renamed the "certainty" score.
  • "Export predictions to WMAT" button removed, as it was a temporary workaround before adding the "prediction" column to the WMAT.
  • Default classifier model changed to HistGradientBoostingClassifier.
  • Table is now sorted by cluster ID column in viewer mode by default.
  • Fixed bug in Live Classifier where accuracy matrix would be cleared when selecting to take input from the WMAT in Viewer Mode.
  • Fixed oversight in Live Classifier where the overlay graphics couldn't be created if the Feature Extractor's input data source was not from the detector.

WMAT:

  • Added "prediction" and "score" columns for easy viewing of corresponding Live Classifier predictions.
  • Undo button becomes "redo" button when pressed.
  • "Select first unlabelled detection" button changed to "select next unlabelled detection".
  • Table columns can now be widened.
  • Table height can now be adjusted in the settings.
  • Some minor GUI changes to the settings dialog.
  • Fixed bug that caused the wrong rows to be selected when pressing the "select within start interval" button after sorting by a column.
