First release of Folio Desk: a quiet Gmail client built on gpui-shell 0.7.3.

Highlights

  • Connect Gmail directly with your own Desktop OAuth client; read, search, reply, send, archive, star and trash.
  • Local mail cache kept fresh through Gmail's history feed — saved letters show at once while Gmail refreshes. Disconnecting erases it.
  • Avatars generated from each correspondent's email address in the Folio tile style.
  • Letters render as selectable rich text (HTML), without scripts, styles or remote tracking images.

Downloads

  • Linux: folio-desk-0.1.0-linux.tar.gz — unpack and run folio-desk, or download install.sh beside it and run sh install.sh.
  • macOS: folio-desk-0.1.0-macos.zip — unsigned; after unzipping, right-click → Open the first time (or xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "Folio Desk.app").
