Bear: official bearcli transport

Bear's latest desktop build ships an official CLI at /Applications/Bear.app/Contents/MacOS/bearcli. This release adds it as a first-class transport alongside the existing bear://x-callback-url path.

What's new

  • bearcli transport — synchronous, focus-steal-free, supports real list / search.
  • Auto mode (default) — probes bearcli once and uses it when present; falls back silently to the URL scheme on older Bear builds and on iOS.
  • Settings → Bear now exposes a Transport dropdown (Auto / bearcli / URL scheme), a CLI binary path field, and a Detect CLI button.

Compatibility

Existing settings keep working — transport defaults to Auto, so URL-scheme users see no behavioural change unless they install the new Bear release.
