Thanks! This is on my list as #98: keeping the timing of what you play, with quantize on playback, so you can choose. It changes how patterns are stored, so it has to come in a version that changes the format, with older patterns playing exactly as before. |

This is in Felucca 1.4: https://github.com/hugelton/Felucca/releases/tag/v1.4 Live recording now keeps when you played each note, as the step's NUDGE (in 1/16 of a step, from half a step early to 7/16 late). Each track has a QUANTIZE setting, the second row of SEQ > AUTOMATION: ON (the default) plays everything on the grid as before, OFF plays your timing. So you can record loosely and choose later, per track. Nudges can also be set by hand: the NUDGE rows on AUTOMATION, or hold a step on STEP and turn PRESETS. It needed a new project format, so projects saved with 1.4 don't open on 1.1.5.x. Thanks @jsmonzani! I'll close this one. |
Uh oh!

Although it changes how things are stored, unquantized recording with reversible playback quantization is very desirable for a more "human" and natural performance. An implementation has been done by: https://github.com/keremimo/melodee/releases/tag/v0.12
