Release Notes

RestAPI v1.0.0

This is the first major release of our RESTful API built with Go and the Gin web framework. It provides a simple event registration system where users can create, update, delete, and register for events.

New Features

  • User Authentication: Users can now sign up and log in. Passwords are securely hashed and stored. Token-based authentication is implemented using JWT.

  • Event Management: Users can create, update, and delete events. Each event includes details such as name, description, location, and date/time.

  • Event Registration: Users can register for events. Registrations can also be cancelled.

Tech Stack

  • Go: The backend is built with Go, providing efficient and reliable performance.

  • Gin Web Framework: Gin is used for handling HTTP requests and responses.

  • SQLite: SQLite is used for data storage, providing a lightweight and disk-based database solution.

  • bcrypt: User passwords are hashed using bcrypt, ensuring the secure storage of sensitive data.

  • JWT: JSON Web Tokens (JWT) are used for user authentication.

  • Fixed a bug in the SQL statement for creating the registrations table.
