Note
This page assumes that you have the basic idea or knowledge of Nix.
- To begin, the configuration follows a specific pattern called The Dendritic Pattern. The link already explains the Dendritic Pattern itself pretty well, so no need to talk about it here.
- To learn the modules that are used:
- flake-parts official documentation: https://flake.parts/
- import-tree by vic: https://github.com/denful/import-tree/ (documentation: https://import-tree.oeiuwq.com)
- nix-wrapper-modules: https://nix-community.github.io/nix-wrapper-modules/
- easy-hosts: https://github.com/tgirlcloud/easy-hosts
- Fortunately, there's also a template for this (I use this every time): https://github.com/vimjoyer/flake-parts-wrapped-template.
These inputs in flake.nix shape most of the configuration:
-
lumina: my own flake library and package source. Hosts import its signature modules and some packages, such as the GRUB theme. -
home-manager: runs as a NixOS module in each host. -
easy-hosts: registers the hosts. -
nixos-hardware: hardware profiles. Tanuki usesasus-fa506nc. -
nix-cachyos-kernel: the CachyOS kernel that Serpentine uses. -
dms,dank-greeter,danksearchanddgop: DankMaterialShell and its parts. -
noctalia: the Noctalia shell, which Konoe uses. -
quickshell: the Quickshell toolkit that these shells run on. -
mangowc: the mango compositor.
See flake.nix for the full list.
