Typo 0.1.10

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 12 Oct 12:22

Typo 0.1.10 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • Three backticks and a space typed in front of text now turn that text into the code block, with its line breaks kept. In 0.1.9 the block opened empty and the text was gone until you undid it.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.10_x64_en-US.msi) — everything above applies to Windows too.

  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

Typo 0.1.9

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 08 Oct 13:44

Typo 0.1.9 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • Code blocks are back. Three backticks and a space start one, and a word between them — ```python — is kept as its label. A fence that arrives by paste or sync now stays a fence, with its lines, its spacing and its label as written, instead of sinking into a paragraph of inline code.
  • There is no syntax highlighting: the block is there to keep code exactly as written, in any language. A long line scrolls sideways rather than wrapping.
  • In a code block Tab types two spaces. Backspace at the start of one and Delete next to one no longer take the whole block with them.
  • Copying from VS Code: several lines of code paste as a code block carrying their language, a single line goes in where the caret is, and text copied from a markdown file pastes as headings and paragraphs.
  • Fences that an earlier version already opened and saved as inline code stay that way; only fences it never touched become blocks.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.9_x64_en-US.msi) — everything above applies to Windows too.

  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

Typo 0.1.8

Choose a tag to compare

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 07 Oct 12:19

Typo 0.1.8 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • Typo now syncs when it opens, not only when you leave the window. Notes written on another device are there when you start, instead of arriving after you have already written over them. You can type straight away; the sync runs behind the editor.
  • Writing that lands just after a sync has brought in another device's changes no longer replaces them silently. Your text is kept, and the other version becomes a tab of its own, the same as any other conflict.
  • Dragging a block near the top or bottom edge scrolls the canvas, so a block can be moved further than one screen.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.8_x64_en-US.msi) — everything above applies to Windows too.

  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

Typo 0.1.7

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 30 Sep 12:11

Typo 0.1.7 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • Syncing no longer makes switching or rearranging tabs wait. A sync used to hold everything up for its whole run, including the time spent talking to the remote; now it only does so for the moment it writes your files.
  • Writing that lands while a sync is fetching is committed before the incoming changes are merged, so it goes through the usual conflict handling instead of making the sync fail.
  • A sync with nothing to send skips the push, so syncing when you leave the window is quicker.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.7_x64_en-US.msi) — everything above applies to Windows too.

  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 29 Sep 13:35

Typo 0.1.6 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • Tabs can be hidden without deleting them. Right-click a tab and choose Hide, or drag it onto the Hidden group above the sync controls. Hidden tabs still turn up in search. To bring one back, choose Unhide, or drag it into the list wherever you want it.
  • Dropping a tab in the empty space under the list moves it to the end.
  • Connecting a vault that already has writing in it to a repo it shares no history with now asks first, since that pushes everything in the vault to the repo. A new, empty vault takes the repo as it is instead of adding a blank tab to every device.
  • When two devices arrange the list differently before syncing, the arrangements are merged. Before, one device's arrangement was dropped and its tabs moved to the top.
  • A tab whose file was removed outside the app now drops out of the list instead of showing an error.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.6_x64_en-US.msi) — everything above applies to Windows too.

  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

Typo 0.1.5

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 24 Sep 02:09

Typo 0.1.5 (macOS, Apple silicon · Windows, 64-bit)

  • The caret is now sized to the letters on every line, a little taller than the text itself. 0.1.4 made it the same height on every line by making it a full line tall; this keeps it even and brings it back to the size of the writing.
  • Selecting text across several lines now highlights every line at the same height. Before, the rows after the first came out taller.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Windows (Typo_0.1.5_x64_en-US.msi) — the first Windows build since 0.1.2. The caret and selection changes above are macOS only; Windows never had that problem. What is new on Windows is everything from 0.1.3:

  • Ctrl+N opens a new tab.
  • Images over 20 MB are refused with a message, so one oversized image can't make GitHub reject a push and stop the whole vault from syncing. A refused image no longer leaves an empty block behind.
  • The delete confirmation no longer starts a sync while it is open.
  • Licence texts are now included for the bundled crates that are published without one (THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md).
  • Unsigned: when SmartScreen stops the installer, click More info, then Run anyway.

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 23 Sep 13:27

Typo 0.1.4 (macOS, Apple silicon)

  • The caret is now the same height on every line of a paragraph. It used to grow taller on the line after Shift+Enter or a wrap, reaching up into the line above; now the first line's caret matches the rest. The text itself does not move.
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

This release is macOS only. For Windows, 0.1.2's MSI is still the latest.

Typo 0.1.3

Choose a tag to compare

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 23 Sep 12:13

Typo 0.1.3 (macOS, Apple silicon)

  • Cmd+N opens a new tab.
  • Images over 20 MB are refused with a message, so one oversized image can't make GitHub reject a push and stop the whole vault from syncing. A refused image no longer leaves an empty block behind.
  • The delete confirmation no longer starts a sync while it is open.
  • The whole app bundle is now signed ad hoc, so macOS offers Open Anyway instead of calling the app damaged.
  • Licence texts are now included for the bundled crates that are published without one (THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md).
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

The Windows installer for 0.1.3 will be added shortly. Until then, 0.1.2's MSI is the latest for Windows.

Typo 0.1.2

@hyeung-jun hyeung-jun released this 21 Sep 13:34

Typo 0.1.2 (macOS, Apple silicon)

  • Tab indents a paragraph; Shift+Tab takes the indent back off.
  • Nesting is kept only where markdown can hold it (list items under list items), so what you see is what a save writes.
  • A dragged list row no longer stays stuck when the drag ends outside the window.
  • Third-party licences now ship with the app and with this release (THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md).
  • Unsigned: on first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
