Kitty takes up full space of workspace every time it is opened regardless if it is the only window or not until it is moved #16404
Hyprland versionHyprland 0.56.2 built from branch v0.56.2 at commit efb5099 Is this a regression?Yes, used to work in 0.56.1 What's the bug?Kitty Terminal takes up full space of workspace every time it is opened regardless if it is the only window or not until it is moved or fullscreened and un-fullscreened, or any operation like that. The subsequent kitty windows tile underneath perfectly as expected. Video_2026-09-27_16-28-30.mp4Kitty is the only window that does this, every other window is fine. It happens whether no matter what method is used to open Kitty. it appears to happen with any config. I have zero window rules, swallow is also disabled in my personal config. Reproduction stepsinstall Hyprland from mainline Arch Linux repos, and open Kitty 0.49.1 (mainline Arch). it appears with any hyprland configuration, and any kitty configuration. Not a bug. It's a feature.. Make a windowrule to disable maximize events. |
