External Monitor Running at Lower Refresh Rate on Hybrid Graphics Setup

Environment Details

• Graphics Setup: Hybrid (Nvidia 3060 mobile + Intel i7-10750H)
• External Monitor: 1920x1080 @ 240Hz
• Internal Monitor: 1920x1080 @ 144Hz
• Driver: Latest Nvidia driver installed
• Hyperland Configuration: Monitor resolution correctly set in the config file
• Relevant Environment Variables:
  • LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nvidia
  • __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
  • `NVD_BACKEND=direct

Description

When I connect my external monitor (1920x1080 @ 240Hz), it runs at a lower refresh rate despite having the latest Nvidia driver and correct resolution settings in Hyperland’s configuration. I do not have Optimus Manager installed and cannot disable the Intel GPU via the BIOS.

Troubleshooting

• Verified that the Nvidia driver is the latest available.
• Confirmed that the monitor resolution is correctly set in the Hyperland configuration file.
• Set environment variables as listed above.
• No Optimus Manager is installed and there is no option to disable the Intel GPU in BIOS.

Question

Is there a known workaround or configuration change that would allow the external monitor to run at 240Hz? Any help or suggestions on resolving this issue would be greatly

It's happening to me too—the difference is that my secondary monitor is 60Hz, but it's now running below 60fps. This started after upgrading to version 0.48.0. Before that, it was perfect, but now it's laggy as hell.

Im working on one big slowdown, mainly hyprwm/aquamarine@86e36b5 made nvidia primary other gpu possible but removed linear formats for intel/amd < > nvidia so blitting is cpu copied and slow, for everyone currently. apparently nvidia shits itself if creating linear gbm bo,s but can import them..

Same issue here, looks like the external monitor's refresh rate = 1/2 * "the setting value". For example, my DP-1 is 3840x2160 120Hz, but actually it is 3840x2160 60Hz.
