Quick Language Switcher v1.0.0

Quick Language Switcher is a Blender 5.0+ add-on for fast UI language switching, favorite language management, and optional bilingual locale pack generation.

Highlights

  • Switch Blender UI languages from the top-bar Switch Language menu.
  • Open the language switcher with Shift + Ctrl + L.
  • Add, remove, and reorder favorite languages in add-on preferences.
  • Add-on UI translations for English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.

Installation

  1. Download quickly_switch_languages-1.0.0.zip below without extracting it.
  2. In Blender, open Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions.
  3. Open the upper-right menu and select Install from Disk.
  4. Select the ZIP and enable Quick Language Switcher.

Bilingual Pack Notice

The optional bilingual-pack feature writes generated locale resources under Blender's datafiles/locale directory and requires write access to that directory.

  • The feature is intended for GitHub distribution and is not intended for Blender's official Extensions Platform.
  • Select English and one non-English language to generate a pack.
  • Restart Blender, then manually select the generated locale from Preferences > Interface > Language.
  • Disabling or unregistering the add-on attempts best-effort cleanup of generated resources.
  • Review the README before using the bilingual-pack feature for the complete cleanup and overwrite safety boundaries.

Verification

  • Blender 5.1.2 isolated --factory-startup --background registration and unregistration smoke test
  • pytest -q: 113 passed, 2 skipped
  • Python compile checks for all key add-on modules
  • Archive inspection: 19 runtime files, one quickly_switch_languages/ top-level directory, no tests or development-process documents
