v1.1.4
Release Notes - AdManageKit v1.1.4
Overview
This release of AdManageKit brings significant improvements to ad management, new features for more efficient ad preloading, and fixes some key issues reported by our users. We aim to provide a more streamlined integration process for AdMob, Google Play Billing, and User Messaging Platform (UMP), making it easier for developers to monetize their Android apps.
New Features
1. NativeAdManager Enhancements
- Custom Key Management: Added the ability to use custom keys for each native ad, making ad placement management more intuitive and organized.
- Retry Mechanism Configuration: Developers can now configure the retry mechanism for ad loading failures more flexibly, ensuring better control over the ad loading process.
// Retry configuration NativeAdManager.setMaxRetries(5) // Default is 3
2. Expanded Ad Types
- Collapsible Banner Ad: Added support for collapsible banner ads, which automatically resize when the user interacts with them.
bannerAdView.loadCollapsibleBanner(this, "ca-app-pub-3940256099942544/2014213617", true)
- New Native Ad Layouts: Introduced
NativeBannerSmall,NativeBannerMedium, andNativeLargeviews to offer more flexibility in UI designs.
3. Improved Consent Handling
- Enhanced integration with User Messaging Platform (UMP) for GDPR and CCPA compliance, ensuring that users are always properly informed and can provide consent before ads are shown.
Bug Fixes
1. Ad Loading Improvements
- Fixed issues where Interstitial Ads would occasionally fail to load, ensuring more reliable ad delivery and caching.
- Resolved a bug where native ads were not properly released, leading to potential memory leaks.
2. Billing Library Integration Fixes
- Improved error handling in the Google Play Billing Library to provide clearer feedback to users in the event of payment issues or user cancellations.
- Fixed crashes related to billing client initialization on certain devices.
Optimizations
- Lifecycle Management: Improved resource cleanup for ads when activities or fragments are destroyed. Ads are now properly released in lifecycle events (
onDestroy,onStop) to prevent memory leaks. - Performance: Optimized ad loading by reducing unnecessary API calls and improving caching mechanisms.
- Firebase tROAS Tracking: Enhanced automatic event logging for Firebase to better track tROAS (Target Return on Ad Spend).
Deprecations
- The old
loadAdmethod without custom key support is now deprecated. Developers are encouraged to switch to the new custom key-based ad management for better control and organization.
Known Issues
- UMP Consent UI Flicker: Under certain circumstances, the consent form may flicker on first load. We are actively working on this issue.
- Collapsible Banner: On some older Android versions, collapsible banner resizing might not work smoothly. A fix will be provided in an upcoming release.
