10.0.0-RC1
INAV Configurator 10.0.0-RC1
This is the first Release Candidate for INAV 10.0, a new major version.
This build contains significant new features first seen in this release. A release candidate is for testing out the new features prior to the stable release planned for December. If you prefer a more reliable version and want bug fixes only, choose the latest release in the 9.1.x series instead.
This version of the INAV Configurator is intended for use with INAV 10.x firmware only — do not use with INAV 9.x or earlier.
📖 Full details, screenshots, and setup guides:
What version do I need?

⚠️ Upgrading from INAV 9.x — read this first
Use the Backup Config / Restore Config buttons on the Firmware Flasher tab to get automatic settings migration — pasting a diff all into the CLI does not run it.
- Backup Config (Firmware Flasher tab) before flashing.
- Select your target and flash INAV 10.0 with Full Chip Erase enabled. (Enable "Show unstable releases" to see this RC.)
- Restore Config (same tab) after reconnecting. This is what runs Configurator 10.0's automatic settings-migration tool, handling most of the renames below for you.
Incompatible Settings
Removed: frsky_use_legacy_gps_mode_sensor_ids, led_pin_pwm_mode (→ replaced by unified PINIO PWM).
Renamed (auto-migrated via Restore Config only): 8 mavlink_* rate/buffer settings → mavlink_port1_*; nav_fw_wp_turn_smoothing → nav_fw_wp_turn_mode.
Full detail, migration values, and other default-value changes: see the firmware release notes' Incompatible Settings section.
Configurator Changes
- Automatic board/magnetometer alignment wizard — a guided 3-step alignment flow under the Alignment tab. (#2771)
- Grid Survey Pattern Generator — auto-generate a survey mission by area/spacing/sweep angle in the Mission Control tab. (#2593)
- Google Location Services & Weather — localized weather and approximate location for Mission Control when no GPS/mission position is available (API key in Application Options). (#2727)
- Waypoint list selector — pick a waypoint from a list to center/edit it, plus mission altitude-reference switching, and a 3D terrain view for plotted missions. (#2717, #2710)
- Map Generator tab — generate
.TERterrain files for the flight controller's SD card (feeds firmware's new Terrain AGL feature, see Firmware Changes below), or map images for radio widgets (ETHOS/Yaapu). (#2599) - DroneCAN node support — node info, full parameter read, save-to-EEPROM, and restart for DroneCAN peripherals (configures firmware's new DroneCAN support, see Firmware Changes below). (#2671, #2672)
- Unified PINIO/PWM output UI — assign any timer output to PINIO/duty-cycle mode from the mixer tab, with duty control from the Programming Tab (configures firmware's new unified PINIO PWM system). (#2579)
- ADSB flight-area overlay on the GPS map, danger-level color coding. GPS signal-strength-by-constellation OSD field.
- INAV 10.0 Android app (beta) — third-party app, works well with minor issues outstanding. APK download — feedback.
- Other: Italian language support; thermal camera support (MassZero/Axisflying); Mission Control fixes + Manual Throttle Launch option (#2704); several OSD tab fixes (#2677); CLI cache-building output no longer shown in command input.
Addtional Firmware Changes
(Most users get their firmware update through this Configurator — full detail in the firmware wiki page.)
- Terrain AGL altitude data and Terrain AGL hold mode — ground-relative altitude from SD-card terrain data (loaded via Configurator's Map Generator tab, above).
- VTOL auto transition — airspeed-based automated transition with stabilization/lift smoothing.
- Fixed-wing Auto Speed mode — hold airspeed or 3D ground speed instead of thrust-based cruise.
- Predictive coordinated waypoint turns — geometric coordinated-arc turns sized to actual turn radius.
- Improved MAVLink implementation — RC override over MAVLink, MSP-over-MAVLink tunnel, mission upload/download, guided nav control, native MLRS integration. (Settings renamed — see Incompatible Settings above.)
- New IMUs/sensors: LSM6DXX, LSM6DS320x, ICM40609D, LIS2MDL magnetometer, INA226 battery meter, BY25Q64 flash chip.
- New targets: DAKEFPVF405WING, HGLRCF722LITE, HUMMINGBIRD_FC305_H7, ORBITH743v2, SYNERDUINOH7/H7A, SYNERDUINOSTM_F405/F405A, ZEEZF72020V3, ZEEZF73030V3, RP2350_PICO.
- ~79 fixes and ~134 features/enhancements since firmware 9.1.0, across 228 merged pull requests.

Upgrading to INAV 9.0.2
Upgrading from INAV 9.0.0 or 9.0.1
Simply download and install the new INAV Configurator 9.0.2. No other changes needed.
Upgrading from INAV 8.0
- Download and install the new INAV Configurator 9.0.2
- Backup configuration with CLI
diff allcommand or use the Diff All and Save to file buttons. - Flash INAV 9.0.1 WITH Full Chip Erase option enabled
- Load your 8.0
Diffsettings in to the CLI. Then take a note or write down the incompatible settings changes marked in RED. - Then copy your 8.0
Difffile and rename it 9.0. And edit the old incompatible settings. - Go to CLI and load your edited INAV 9.0
Diff - Done
Tip
Concerning step 6.
It can be a safer option to load your Diff All settings in two parts if you are using multiple Profiles. e.g. Control, Mixer or Battery.
This can be done by copying and loading the Diff All text setting from the top, down to the bottom of the # master settings category. Then load that into the CLI and press enter. Once it has written, press the Save Settings button.
Wait until it reboots and go back to the CLI tab again, then copy and load the rest of the Diff All text file. Starting from the # Control_profile 1 settings category, down to the bottom. Press enter. Once written, it will save by itself.
Diff update tool
Rather than steps 4 and 5 above. You can try this diff update tool. This is a work in progress. Currently it will try to update version 7 or later diffs to version 8 or later. Just paste your full diff all (not dump) in to the tool. Select the INAV version you're upgrading to. Then press the button. It will create a new diff for you and give you warnings about anything you should check.

Upgrading
Upgrading from INAV 8.0
- Download and install the new INAV Configurator 9.0
- Backup configuration with CLI
diff allcommand or use the Diff All and Save to file buttons. - Flash INAV 9.0 WITH Full Chip Erase option enabled
Upgrading from older versions
Please follow the instructions on this page.
