Release list
AWAGAM 1.1.0
A feature release of AWAGAM, a DNS-level TLD and domain blocker for Android. It lets AWAGAM run alongside apps like InviZible Pro, which Android’s one-VPN-at-a-time rule used to prevent:
- A new local resolver option forwards DNS queries to a resolver running on the device—like InviZible Pro’s DNSCrypt in proxy mode—instead of a DNS-over-HTTPS provider. AWAGAM keeps applying your blocklists; the local resolver decides how queries leave the device, for example encrypted or through Tor. Select it under Settings → DNS Provider → Local resolver (port 5354 by default).
- If the local resolver isn’t running, the home screen says so and explains what to check.

AWAGAM 1.0.2
A bug-fix release of AWAGAM, a DNS-level TLD and domain blocker for Android. It makes blocklists more forgiving of mistakes and fixes how internationalized domains are matched and how blocklists are exported:
- Invalid entries and groups without a name are skipped with a warning instead of failing the whole blocklist.
- Internationalized domains with characters like “ß” are blocked, as they’re now converted the way browsers do.
- Pi-hole exports use entries Pi-hole accepts in lists, so TLD rules are kept and subdomains are covered.
- Pi-hole and AdGuard Home exports no longer contain URL rules those tools can’t apply; URLs are listed as skipped instead.

AWAGAM 1.0.1
A maintenance release of AWAGAM, a DNS-level TLD and domain blocker for Android. It updates the app’s dependencies and build toolchain and refreshes the store graphic; blocking behavior and settings are unchanged.

AWAGAM 1.0.0
The first release of AWAGAM, a DNS-level TLD and domain blocker for Android. It blocks lookups against blocklists you supply, answers them locally, and forwards everything else to a DNS-over-HTTPS resolver you choose. Nothing is logged, and nothing leaves your device.
The app ships with no blocking rules, so a fresh install blocks nothing until you add a blocklist under Settings. The IA Defensa website provides documentation on where to find and how create blocklists.
Installing
Requires Android 9 or newer.
Through F-Droid (recommended—updates arrive automatically): Add this repository to any F-Droid client, then install AWAGAM from it.

Directly: Download awagam.apk below. Android will ask you to allow installations from wherever you downloaded it, and Play Protect will warn about an app it has not seen before; both are expected for an app distributed outside the Play Store. A direct install does not update itself.
