macOS Apple Silicon beta, built locally from commit 3e342192200b6d258cc8e6fc4d17ce01307d3227 (PR #253).

The installer is Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled. Signing credentials stayed on the maintainer’s Mac.

Changes

  • Recover raw media across recording-permission and breakout transitions while preserving source assignments; late grants respect an explicit stop.
  • Consolidate repeated source errors into actionable media status; Retry Media also reaches exhausted tile feeds.
  • Preserve unresolved source failures until delivery resumes, and distinguish permission denial from timeout.
  • Keep waiting-room and waiting-for-host states from triggering the admission watchdog.
  • Correct stale timestamps in automatic speaker decisions and add cut attribution to logs.
  • Request the highest resolution needed by shared participant sources, preserve existing video when an upgrade is refused, and bound automatic quality retries.

Install

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac and OBS Studio 32.2.1 or newer. Close OBS, open the .pkg, install for your user account, then reopen OBS. Windows users should continue using the existing Windows release; this beta has no Windows installer.

Validation and beta scope

The real macOS SDK build and all 75 local tests passed. GitHub Windows, macOS, Linux, Companion, static-analysis and review checks passed. Apple notarization, ticket validation and Gatekeeper assessment passed.

Controlled permission/breakout trials, a full candidate soak and second-Mac installation remain to be validated. Higher requested resolution does not guarantee Zoom will deliver HD. Keep the previous installer available for rollback.
