Release list
portman 0.3.3
Stop a hand-picked group of servers without touching the ones you still need.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal binary, so it runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.
Changes in 0.3.3
- A new selection control turns each status dot into a checkbox while you choose servers
- Checked rows stay aligned with the normal list and have separate highlights that remain easy to scan
- The footer counts only your checked servers and asks for confirmation before stopping them
- Arrow keys and Return work in selection mode, and Escape backs out without killing anything

portman 0.3.2
Project names are clearer at a glance, and the panel wastes less space.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal binary, so it runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.
What’s new
- Repeated package names now include the shortest useful project context, so rows read “ian.is / site” and “islamabad-v1 / site” instead of two indistinguishable “site” entries
- The panel uses a narrower scrollbar while still respecting the macOS scroll-bar visibility setting

portman 0.3.1
Updates stay out of your way, and Settings looks like a Mac settings window.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal binary, so it runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.
What's new
- A new version waits in the panel footer as a button naming it, rather than putting a dialog in front of whatever you were doing. Portman lives in the menu bar, so that dialog usually opened behind your work, where you might never notice it
- Asking for an update now closes the panel first. The update window used to open underneath the panel, and you had to dismiss the panel by hand before you could read or click it
- Settings tabs moved up into the title bar with icons above the labels, the way macOS does it. Each tab sizes the window to its own content, so no pane ends in a band of empty space
- The Ignore Rules tab tells you when nothing is ignored, instead of showing an empty list four hundred points tall
- The status item tooltip counts servers properly. It said "1 servers listening"

portman 0.3.0
The menu bar now shows you when something needs attention, instead of waiting for you to open the panel and find it.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal binary, so it runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.
What's new
- An orange dot on the menu bar icon when a port has more than one listener, when a server has outlived its project folder or worktree, or when it accepts connections and then never answers
- The tooltip names the problem instead of counting it.
Port 3000 has more than one listenertells you what to do about it.1 issuedoes not - A new problem blinks the dot twice and then settles. Nothing pulses at you all day, and it follows Reduce motion
- One issue per port, so a stale worktree squatting a contested port counts once. Killing it fixes both

portman 0.2.0
First public release.
portman is a macOS menu bar app that lists everything listening locally, tells you which project and framework owns it, and lets you act on it.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal binary — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.
What it does
- Names your dev servers by project, framework and version, read from
package.json, lockfiles and Vite's dep cache - Flags servers that are holding a port but no longer answering —
alive, but not responding - Groups port conflicts under their own heading so you can see what you're choosing between
- Folds orphaned servers and agent-worktree leftovers into collapsed sections with one
Kill all - Resolves Docker forwarded ports back to the container, compose project and service
- Shows whether each port is on loopback or reachable from the network
- Live page thumbnails, CPU, memory, uptime and git branch on the expanded row
- Share a port publicly through a Cloudflare quick tunnel
- Global hotkey
⌥⌘P, type to search,/regex/supported
