Updating to a new version

Multi MC does not make it easy to update to a new version of a modpack. Instead, what you should do is to download the modpack anew, and copy over certain files/folders to make the transition easy.

Downloading a new version

Add a New Instance to MultiMC, using the latest zip URL. Name it however you like. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces on this field!

Open the old instance's folder

Crack open the old instance's Minecraft folder either by right-clicking the instance or by selecting it and using the right-hand toolbar as seen below

Copy (at least) these files

Copy the files and folders you want to bring over into the new instance's Minecraft folder. Files you might want:

• Anything starting with Xaeros will get you your world map and waypoint data
• options.txt contains your Minecraft settings, including keybinds!

For options.txt, you might need to run minecraft first to let it generate one of these before replacing it
