Scientific Illustrator 1.5.1 fixes PowerPoint/WPS repeatedly taking focus while objects are being drawn.

Changes

  • Added powerpoint_set_focus_policy with preserve (default) and foreground modes.
  • Windows PowerPoint COM no longer activates the window for every object and restores the previous foreground app.
  • Mac PowerPoint Office.js continues through context.sync while PowerPoint is in the background.
  • Mac PowerPoint and Mac WPS OOXML refreshes now open in the background.
  • Windows WPS uses a no-activate launch and foreground restoration.
  • Replaced the long README with a concise author, compatibility, installation, usage, update, and rollback guide.

Validation

Repository validation, automated backend tests, and GitHub Actions passed. Mac PowerPoint testing confirmed that ChatGPT remained the foreground application during drawing.

Older releases v1.5.0 and v1.3.0 remain available for rollback.
