KodaX Space v0.1.34

Theme

Runtime safety, resilient integrations, visible lifecycle control, and truthful packaged
execution.

Added

  • Runtime integration health - Settings and diagnostic export now expose bounded per-domain
    MCP/A2A/Extension source, revision, watcher, last-valid-reload, and diagnostic facts. Space
    follows daemon health changes without reconnecting Coder and automatically shows recovery after
    the named integration file is repaired.
  • Structured Auto and sandbox activity facts - Auto guardrail v4 side queries project only
    bounded provider/model/stage/timing/size/retry/failure metadata. Active tools show Sandboxed,
    Sandbox fallback, or No sandbox; classifier prompt/response bodies and sandbox activity never
    become transcript content.
  • Space-scoped orphan recovery - A daemon auto-started by Space negotiates
    daemonOrphanExit:1 and receives a 30-second idle-orphan grace. Other clients cancel the reaper,
    active governed work drains to terminal state, and ordinary CLI-started persistent daemons keep
    their existing lifecycle.
  • Main-owned startup overlay - Electron main owns the visible startup/shutdown boundary until
    the current renderer generation is ready. The duplicate renderer loading screen is removed, and
    recovery can restore the real application without a splash-to-shell flash.

Changed

  • KodaX 0.7.78 Runtime safety baseline - Root and Desktop install the exact npm Registry release
    (sha512-D33K2cSFM6Xyi1x8Q2Bwjv6KEGzZIdIlqSN+Odt9MVWgoEb0TCARlaC98ds+M1S+jlhCay+8masnStzbxk6Itg==).
    Formal builds require the same Registry bytes across both manifests, lock views, installed
    package, dependency closure, and package smoke.
  • Capability-based Runtime compatibility - Live attachment is decided by negotiated contracts,
    not by a second semantic-version floor. Space requires the existing shared-session safety
    surface plus orphan exit, integration resilience, Skill learning-loop, and Auto guardrail v4;
    any missing required capability fails closed.
  • Auto v4 fallback semantics - Manually or persistently selected Rules mode remains sticky.
    Classifier timeout, Provider error, or output-contract failure receives one immediate retry;
    exhaustion applies an Accept-edits-compatible fallback only to the current call while
    engine=llm remains unchanged.
  • Cross-platform complete-exit contract - Windows complete exit, macOS Cmd+Q, Linux
    last-window exit, and tray-disabled fallback close Coder admission, drain admitted operations,
    inspect Space-local and daemon work, and perform a revision-fenced safe stop while a visible
    control surface remains available. The tray no longer offers “Quit Space, keep Runtime”.
  • Learned Skill roadmap - F118 moves to v0.1.35 as a minimum Runtime-owned learned-Skill
    attention/list/detail/review/trust/reject/disable/rollback surface. The unimplemented F137/F139
    native document and semantic UI lane moves intact to v0.1.36.
  • Current kodax_manual guidance - The injected self manual now explains 0.7.78 integration
    health, Auto v4, sandbox/fallback meaning, cross-platform complete exit, orphan recovery, and
    legacy daemon cleanup while retaining every installed SDK mechanism topic.

Fixed

  • Optional integration failures stay optional - Invalid MCP/A2A/Extension updates retain
    KodaX's last-known-good state and return the exact bounded diagnostic. Poll failures retain the
    previous projection instead of degrading the core Runtime.
  • Transactional integration reloads - Space validates and constructs MCP candidates before
    replacing cached managers. Invalid global or project documents leave the prior manager set live;
    Settings mutations report applied, not-required, or failed, and revision conflicts require
    reload-and-retry instead of overwriting newer data.
  • Packaged sandbox helper paths - ASRT and its runtime dependency chain ship under physical
    resources/node_modules paths rather than inside app.asar, allowing Windows srt-win.exe and
    Linux seccomp helpers to spawn. Package smoke runs the public doctor and rejects
    app.asar/ENOENT helper diagnostics.
  • Complete-exit race and visibility gaps - A full exit checks Partner, Workflow, permission,
    AskUser, queue, and External Agent work before irreversible teardown. Missing daemon state counts
    as stopped only after an independently verified unowned profile; blocker, timeout, malformed
    output, command failure, or late ownership restores/relaunches Space.
  • Restored interrupt history ordering - Canonical positional replay keeps a completed interrupt
    response above the next user query after Session switching or restart instead of moving the
    previous answer below the new prompt.
  • Stale 0.7.77 CI assertions - Runtime compatibility and release-gate tests now require exact
    KodaX 0.7.78, Auto guardrail v4, integration resilience, orphan exit, Skill learning-loop, and
    sandbox contracts instead of failing every build platform on obsolete version/permission
    expectations.

Verification

  • Workspace TypeScript and the complete npm test suite pass locally on Node 22.23.1, including
    21 release tests, 1,977 Desktop tests, and 287 IPC-schema tests.
  • Release acceptance additionally requires lint, changed-file formatting, production
    renderer/main smoke, Windows/Linux E2E shards, the three-platform smoke-build matrix, and the
    exact evidence recorded in docs/releases/v0.1.34-release-readiness.md.
  • Packaged macOS/Linux process-level complete-exit acceptance and the upstream asynchronous
    orphan-cleanup retry/verification gap remain explicit under Issue 133; this release does not
    overstate daemonOrphanExit:1 as a proof of eventual process exit after every cleanup failure.

Installation Notes

Unsigned installers: first launch may trigger OS trust prompts.

  • Windows: use Setup.exe for normal install, Portable.exe for no-install launch, or the matching .zip fallback if the browser blocks direct .exe downloads.
  • Windows SmartScreen: click "More info" -> "Run anyway"
  • macOS: Gatekeeper -> right-click -> Open -> confirm
  • Linux: chmod +x *.AppImage then run; or sudo dpkg -i *.deb

KodaX Space is a local-first tool for trusted users; installers remain unsigned for this release.

Verify Checksums

SHA-512 checksums are included in the uploaded latest*.yml electron-updater manifests; GitHub also exposes a SHA-256 digest for each release asset.
