STICam v1.0.1

STICam turns an Android phone into a Windows webcam over Wi-Fi or USB. It is free to download and use, works without an account, and keeps video traffic between the phone and the selected PC.

What changed

• Disabled MediaPipe Tasks remote statistics logging by selecting its bundled no-op logger.
• Removed Google Data Transport and Firebase runtime classes from the Android package.
• Removed unused Android storage permissions and disabled Android cloud backup/device transfer.
• Added the EULA, dependency inventory, third-party notices, and common license texts to the Android package.
• Added complete third-party and .NET runtime notices to the Windows installer.
• Improved USB multi-device selection and kept automatic virtual-camera startup.
• Added native portrait streaming, automatic orientation changes, and responsive portrait connection/live-control screens.
• Added STICam navy letterboxing for portrait video in the fixed 16:9 Windows virtual-camera output.
• Aligned Android and Windows branding, controls, and color tokens.

The Android v1.0.0 privacy boundary remains documented in the Privacy Policy.

The Windows installer is not Authenticode-signed. Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. Verify the SHA-256 above before running it.

Privacy and network security

STICam has no account, advertising, developer-operated server, or cloud video processing. Android v1.0.1 removes MediaPipe's upstream metrics transport. Wi-Fi video/control traffic is not encrypted or authenticated, so use Wi-Fi mode only on a trusted private network and prefer USB on shared networks.

STICam v1.0.0 (Superseded)

Warning

Superseded by STICam v1.0.1. Android v1.0.0 includes MediaPipe Tasks 0.10.35's upstream metrics transport. Google states that it sends API performance and utilization metrics, not image or video input. STICam's developer does not receive those metrics. Update to v1.0.1 for the remediated Android build. The Windows v1.0.0 installer is not affected. See the version-specific Privacy Policy.

• A USB device selector when more than one authorized Android device is connected.
• On-device MediaPipe face tracking and automatic framing.
• Manual zoom, exposure, ISO, focus, flashlight, camera, and resolution controls.
• A unified high-contrast Windows control panel with single-outline selectors, neutral sliders, built-in mirror and face-tracking controls, and a balanced default live layout.
• A native Windows Media Foundation virtual camera.
• Automatic virtual-camera startup with every live stream, with no separate toggle required.
• The Windows executable title and Task Manager identity are consistent.
• Automatic reconnection and clear stream failure messages.
• Offline operation with no STICam-operated analytics, cloud service, or advertising SDK.

Known limitation

Deliberate, very rapid camera switching can occasionally fail. Normal camera
switching is reliable. Camera, resolution, and filter controls are temporarily
disabled while a switch is in progress so commands cannot stack up.
