• 版本提示和主要操作保持不变。 当前版本、更新提示、检查更新、升级说明、缓存时长和受保护的安全重启仍在版本芯片的详情面板中。仅属于旧设置页的侧栏显示开关和服务启动时间展示随页面一起移除；没有新增自动升级、自动重启或定时检查。
• 已有配置仍然兼容。 不会在升级或挂载时自动改写偏好。旧 profile 若保存了 sidebarEnabled: false，仍会保持隐藏；把该值改为 true 或删除该覆盖值即可恢复默认显示。新安装无需先到设置中开启。
• 验证与文档同步。 219 项测试、类型检查、构建和依赖防护检查通过；恢复指引渲染测试改为覆盖保留的详情面板，中英文 README 同步更新。

Why this update and what changed

• Removes the redundant Settings → Version & updates menu. Installation already shows version status and update notices by default, and clicking the sidebar version chip opens the details. The separate settings page duplicated that functionality, so its menu, page, dedicated styles and translations are removed to simplify Settings.
• Version notices and primary actions are unchanged. The running version, update notices, manual checks, upgrade guidance, cache duration and guarded safe restart remain in the chip's detail panel. The sidebar visibility toggle and service-start-time display belonged only to the removed settings page and are removed with it. No automatic upgrades, automatic restarts or scheduled checks are added.
• Existing configuration remains compatible. Upgrading or mounting never rewrites preferences. An older profile with sidebarEnabled: false stays hidden; set it to true or remove the override to restore default visibility. New installations require no settings-page opt-in.
• Verification and documentation stay synchronized. All 219 tests, type checks, build and dependency guard pass. Recovery-guidance rendering tests now exercise the remaining detail panel, and both READMEs are updated.

This version fixes the case where a command works in your terminal but disappears after DSH is supervised. The installer records the PATH you are using at that moment, without needing a rule for every package manager.

Verified against the current DSH 0.2.1-alpha.1; the verified list is the same as 0.4.0.

• The install command's current PATH is saved by default. No shell startup file is executed; Node stays first, empty, relative and duplicate entries are cleaned up, and missing absolute directories are kept with a warning.
• A fixed environment is still your choice. --path-source minimal keeps only Node and system directories; --service-path "…" uses the full PATH you provide; plan --dry-run shows the final value and every warning first.

Restart is trustworthy in this version: the service stops after a few failed starts in a row and writes down why, instead of retrying forever — and the Restart button only works while your operating system's service really owns the running process. If another tool took the port, the panel hands you the two commands that put supervision back. The settings page also shows when the service started.

Verified against the current DSH 0.2.1-alpha.1; the verified list is the same as 0.3.2.

⚠️ Changed

• If you installed the supervision service, reinstall its definition once. The new failure ceiling lives in that definition, and the old one will not update itself. Take it over again and everything keeps working:

• Restart is stricter now. It is only clickable while the service owns the running process; a process started by something else (the plugin market's restart, a nohup script) leaves the button disabled — so pressing Restart can never leave DSH with nobody to bring it back. While it is disabled the panel shows two copy-only commands: one finds whoever holds the port, one hands supervision back.
• The service no longer restarts forever. After a few failed starts in a row it stops and puts the reason in the service log. Recovery is the same two steps: stop the process holding the port, then run the second command the panel shows.

A documentation-only release: the README's version notes and every past release note are now written in plain language. No code changed — this behaves exactly like 0.3.1.

• The version table is readable now. Each row went from a few hundred characters of implementation detail to one sentence: what that version did, and whether it is worth upgrading to.
• Every historical release note was rewritten. Sixteen versions, the longest from 266 lines down to about 50; they only describe changes you can notice, with the upgrade command at the end.
• Nothing behaves differently. Upgrading changes no behaviour and needs no migration.

A small patch for 0.3.0: the same explanation now appears wherever Restart does, and the list of work it would interrupt stays readable. Nothing below the surface changed — upgrading needs no action.

• Settings explains restart too: the "only when a user-level service supervises DSH" line used to appear only at the bottom of the panel; the settings page now carries it next to the button as well.
• A long command can no longer push the buttons away: list entries are clamped to two lines, so Confirm and Cancel stay visible.
• New page: verifying on Linux or Windows. Those two systems' service definitions are generated and covered by tests but have not been run for real yet; that page is the three-step way to check, including where to look if something is off.
