Fail to launch GUI on macOS (Qt XCB error)

Hello,
I’m currently running TI-Toolbox via Docker Desktop (4.49.0) on macOS (Sequoia 15.6), and I am encountering a GUI launch error related to Qt / X11. As suggested, I have installed XQuartz 2.7.7, and followed all the necessary steps (e.g., log out - log in). The CLI launches correctly, but the GUI immediately aborts with the following message (after which I reinstalled XQuartz 2.7.7 several times):

The only way I am able to open the GUI is manually, by running this code in terminal:

Additionally, the freesurfer container does not seem to initialize correctly, while the simnibs container runs as expected:

Could this issue be related to ARM64 vs AMD64 compatibility or XQuartz permissions under macOS Sequoia? Any guidance on troubleshooting or environment configuration would be greatly appreciated! If necessary, I can also run additional diagnostic commands.

Hi @mattiaravasio1,

The toolbox has been tested on both ARM/AMD, this is unlikely the issue. What version of the toolbox are you using?
It is indeed the case where the X11 forwarding is tricky, especially with macOS.

1. In the first picture, it looks like the problem is with the IP, where you fix it with your hardcoded display env which you assigned to host.docker.internal:0 that is correct.

2. The FreeSurfer container seems to be running okay, it is used as a volume. However, your command will not allow you to use its functionality because you are only executing the SimNIBS container, and not the Docker Compose.

I am working on a better solution that will be release with a new version coming soon, but in the meantime, try to run this script, in the past it helped me configure my DISPLAY variable in a way that Docker liked. Then, try to run the loader.sh.
