Showing remote mouse cursor on aRDP when local mouse is disabled

I'm using freerdp-shadow on linux to share a virtual monitor (created with evdi kernel module) to an android tablet to use it as a secondary monitor. I'm on FreeRDP 2.9.0 and latest aRDP appplication.

Everything is working great, but I wasn't able to figure out how to show my host machine's mouse cursor on the app. I tried disabling on the application, and it does not display the cursor still.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this something that I need to investigate on the freerdp side and not inside the client app?

Which version of aRDP are you on and on what OS are you running it?

I'm running aRDP v5.1.1 on ChromeOS Dev 111.0.5563.8 that supports android apps.

The host machine is running linux kernel version 6.1.9-arch1-2 on arch linux running xorg i3wm. The dummy display is created with evdi 1.12.0.r6.gbdc258b-1.

Hey there, thanks for the information. I revisited your request, and as I understand it now, you'd like to see the remote cursor shapes as the server sends them to the client. This is a feature request as currently aRDP does not support showing the remote cursor shapes, only a local cursor.

The actual display of the cursor is something without which it is impossible to work in many software. We really need this improvement.

Yes i tried, no work. At the moment I have two main problems: the lack of a real cursor (which changes within programs) and the cursor being overlapped by the android system cursor.

Hi there, I misunderstood completely your original request, apologies. What you are asking for is remote cursor shape updates. I think this feature is not exposed to the freeRDPCore Android client library, so it needs some work on the FreeRDP side. Iordan

Is it possible to disable the android cursor when it's over the RDP screen? It can resolve the issue of the cursors being overlapped.

For overlapped cursors, just set the "Cursor mode" to "Disable" in Advanced Settings.

Thanks a lot for the prompt response. From what I see, using "disable" shows the android cursor, but not the PC cursor. Is it possible to get the opposite as well?

That is what the original post called for. This is a non-trivial feature to implement that may require changes in upstream libraries. It is a good feature request and I will look at it as time allows.

The problem for me is that I see no mouse cursor at all, regardless of the aRDP cursor mode. I don't care about the shape as long as I can see any mouse cursor when I move the mouse into the virtual monitor.
