Apparition 0.3.3

• Mac: the command line now ships inside the app. apparition link puts it on your PATH and follows app updates.
• Signing: choose the signer at install time, and data moves when an app changes team.
• Pairing: a missing or rejected pairing fails fast, and pairing hand-off carries a pairing over. The device says why it can't be reached and keeps its pairing.

Apparition 0.3.2

Apps published as a .deb package, such as Kodi, now install. Apparition unpacks the app from the package, so Kodi's official download works as it is. On a Vision Pro, iPhone or iPad, download the .ipa or .deb in Safari and share it to Apparition, or open it from Files, or use Library > Install from a File: Apparition names the app and asks before installing it. The desktop app (Advanced, An app file) and apparition install take a .deb too, and a source can list one.

Signing no longer fails on apps that carry object files, which Kodi's bundled Python does (__LINKEDIT isn't final Mach-O segment, #7).

A key arriving from another device keeps your Apple ID session, and sign-ins that can't be answered no longer prompt for 2FA. iPhone and iPad build from the main Apparition scheme. The desktop app's window buttons on macOS now line up with the header.

Apparition 0.3.1

Apple Vision Pro: the Enable JIT prompt now opens in its own window in front of you. It used to appear as a popover that could land off to the side, out of reach, and the request timed out before you could answer it.

This release is the apps only (visionOS, iOS, tvOS). The desktop installers stay at 0.3.0.

Signing in with the built-in anisette works again. Since 22 October Apple refuses the developer token (-80046) to sign-ins that claim to be an Android phone, which the built-in anisette has to claim, so Apparition now claims a Mac for that one request. Apparition also claims whatever each anisette server reports, so servers that don't run Apple's Android libraries work too.

Your devices now share one certificate instead of making one each. Signing stops before it would make a second Apparition certificate and offers to get the key from the device that has it, nearby over the local network, checked by a six-digit code both screens show: Settings > Get Signing from Another Device and Share Signing with Another Device, Apple TV included. The desktop app and apparition signing send and signing receive do the same. When the account has no certificate left, Apparition offers this before revoking one, and apparition signing hand-off gives the computer's key to an Apparition installed another way.

On Apple TV, free accounts now get a tvOS profile instead of error 8220, Apparition has a home screen icon, and Refresh All is at the top of the Library. Signing refuses an app built for other devices before it uses up one of the week's ten App IDs, and says which version to look for. Adding a source again takes its new options.

Apparition 0.2.0

Apparition can now be Madeira's JIT debugger. It answers the links Madeira opens, serves the game for its whole run, and can attach to an app that is already running. While it debugs, Apparition keeps running in the background (silent audio on visionOS, coarse location on iOS) and shows "Debugging Madeira" beside the tabs and in a notification, each with a Stop button. Apps that ask for the increased memory limit get it, along with extended virtual addressing on paid teams.

A new install is now waited for until it finishes; only an update to an app that's open is left queued.

On the command line, apparition jit starts or attaches a JIT session and apparition sign signs for a paired device without reaching it.

Apparition 0.1.1

Add sources from a link: an "Add to Apparition" button on a source's page (apparition://source?url=…) opens Add Source with it filled in, ready to add. The desktop app's pairing steps now cover Apple TV too, including the second code it shows for Apparition.

Apparition 0.1.0

First release. Sideload, sign and refresh apps on the device itself, on Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, with a free Apple ID (working again after Apple's 12 October change) or your own certificate. The desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux installs it and can stay on as its companion.
