The first release of Skiff, a six-track groovebox firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1, built on Felucca 1.1.5.

Skiff

Install: in Chrome or Edge with the Skiff installer, or download skiff-1.0.fwsc below and run python tools/fm1_install.py skiff-1.0.fwsc. Custom firmware, at your own risk; the installer page also takes the FM-1 back to the official V15 firmware.

What's in it

  • Six tracks, fourteen engines (ANALOG, FM6, PHASE, LOFI, SAMPLE, VOICE, TRIO, WHEEL, GRAIN, PHYS, NOISE, SLICE, DRUM and DRUM-X), 100 factory sounds
  • A 64-step sequencer with chords, ratchets and FLAM, per-step chance, trig conditions, NUDGE, parameter locks and automation; STEP tiles, a piano roll and a drum grid; live recording with overdub and FEEL, TAKE, 8 levels of undo
  • Patterns and songs: a pool of 64 patterns shared by every project, a list of 16 entries per track, SONG; PERFORM with launches, staged mutes and 16 scenes on LOOP, BAR, BEAT or NOW
  • Every page draws what it does, and HOME held shows what every control does there
  • Six themes: SKIFF, HI-CON, PAPER, CRYPT, NEON and QUARK
  • The Skiff Editor in the browser: sounds, steps, the mixer, the song lists, scenes and pattern pool, projects, the DRUM-X kit, the settings and the transport

Felucca's sounds and projects load in Skiff. Please report problems in this repository's Issues, not Felucca's.

The package holds three unmodified files of the JieLi AC79 SDK (Apache-2.0); see LICENSING.md.
