SGF Tools 2.0
SGF Tools 2.0 is a rewrite from scratch of the Mac tools for SGF (Go game) files, for today's
macOS. It has:
- Thumbnails in Finder: each game's board after the opening moves, with a stack of boards for
a file that holds several games. - Quick Look previews: press the Space bar on a game to see the board beside the players,
the result, the event, the date, and the rest of the game information. - Spotlight search: the players, event, date, result, comments, and more of every game, in
Spotlight, Finder, andmdfind. The fields keep their 1.x names, so old saved searches work. - A screensaver that plays the opening of a random game from your collection on each
display, two moves a second.
Requires a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later.

Privacy & Security. -
Open SGF Tools once, and run
qlmanage -rin Terminal. -
For the screensaver: click Update Screensaver Games in SGF Tools and allow the access
requests. DragSGF Tools.saverto your Desktop, run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Desktop/SGF\ Tools.saver, double-click it, and install it
for this user only. Then choose SGF Tools in System Settings > Wallpaper > Screen Saver (under
Other), for each display.
The disk image's Read Me and the README have the
details, including indexing the games you already have.
