Highlights

AWS Secrets Manager is now built in. A new Secrets section sits alongside Parameters: browse and search AWS Secrets Manager for your selected profile and region, open a secret to see its value, tags and rotation status, and create, edit or delete secrets — using the same profile and region picker you already use.

  • JSON secrets can be edited field by field. Most secrets are a JSON object of credentials, so the editor shows them as a key/value table — change one field without hand-editing braces and quotes. Secrets that aren't a flat JSON object are edited as raw text, and binary secrets are shown read-only.
  • Secret values stay hidden until you reveal them. A secret opens with its value masked, so you can check what it is and when it last changed without putting the value on screen.
  • Deleting a secret spells out the recovery window. AWS keeps a deleted secret recoverable for 7 to 30 days; the delete dialog shows the exact date it will be destroyed and defaults to the full 30 days. Deleting immediately with no recovery is a separate, deliberate choice. A secret already scheduled for deletion shows its date and can be restored.
  • You choose how many local backups to keep (Pro). Saved revisions let you diff and roll back a parameter or a secret, and that history was fixed at the last five versions. Settings now has a separate limit for parameters and for secrets, anywhere from 1 to 100 each.
