clipx 0.1.0 (unsigned)
Your own AI-powered creative suite, running on your Mac: video, photos, PDFs, and text/LaTeX/Markdown in one native app, with an assistant that can drive every editor. No subscription, no account, no uploads.
What's new in this build
Writing
- Markdown that's good for specs: Tab nests lists properly, a code block with a language picker, and a one-click PRD outline.
- Mermaid diagrams render live under their block as you type, offline. Exported HTML renders them too.
- Scratch notes are real files in your library.
Fixes from a full bug hunt (49 fixes)
- Privacy:
- Redacted PDF text no longer leaks into Markdown export or into the assistant's search.
- Redactions stay on their content when a page is rotated.
- "Mute" and "trim" are honoured when converting to WebM, MKV, or FLAC.
- PDF and photo assistant tools respect your confirmation setting.
- No more lost work:
- Quitting saves your last typing, and saves always land in order.
- Older-encoding files are never silently re-encoded.
- Undo after save is safe.
- Exports never destroy the file they replace.
- Video:
- Click-zooms aim at the right spot.
- Captions appear in preview and export.
- Audio volume follows the curve you draw.
- Splitting, trimming, and speed changes keep your keyframes and work at any speed.
- Cancelled exports aren't reported as done.
- Text:
- Typing
don'tno longer adds a stray quote, and Move Line keeps every character. - Windows line endings are preserved.
~~~fences are recognized everywhere.- Prices like
$5aren't treated as math. - Regex Replace works with lookbehinds.
- Typing
- Search and conversion:
- Better ranking, so exact filenames aren't buried by long recordings.
- Date filters use your local day.
- Same-format presets work, and GIFs keep their real timing.
- Assistant:
- One bad tool call no longer cancels the whole reply.
- API keys are handled more safely (Gemini's key is no longer sent in the URL).
Install
- Download
clipx-0.1.0.dmgbelow and open it. - Drag clipx to Applications.
- Right-click clipx in Applications and choose Open, then confirm.
Step 3 is required. This build is ad-hoc signed rather than notarized, so on first launch macOS says clipx "is damaged" or comes from an "unidentified developer" and offers only Move to Trash. Opening it from the context menu once is enough. Or from the command line:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/clipx.app
Requirements
macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon. The bundled FFmpeg framework is arm64-only, so there is no Intel build.
