Synology Container Manager Update Process

Hello,

My Synology's Container Manager does not show an update for Immich:

My instance is pretty old now (v1.114.0) and I'm looking for the correct way to update my instance.

I also have a Synology and this is what I do:

• Login using SSH to your NAS
• Run the following commands:
  cd /volume1/path to docker-compose location
  sudo docker-compose pull && sudo docker-compose up -d

My solution is to use Control Panel > Task Scheduler > Create a triggered task (disable)
When I want to update, right-click and select Run.

Thank you, is it not necessary to stop the container(s) before running this?

It's not need to stop the containers. You can directly execute the Task Scheduler.
After the pull is completed, go to Container Manager > Image to check if the "Time Created" reflects the new version's timestamp.
Then go to Container Manager > Project, select immich project and Stop > Clean > Build. This will complete the upgrade.

Wouldn't cleaning it delete the metadata related to media? Cached stuff and such?

Error response from daemon: Conflict. The container name "/immich_redis" is already in use by container "bb5241193959a7669b31c296137009760f283ac94eef2951b9bc74380a7a73b6". You have to remove (or rename) that container to be able to reuse that name.

And so it goes for every existing container.
How can I prevent this, so I don't have to manually remove all the containers first?
