The checksum is the only thing distinguishing these files from any other file
claiming to be them. A protocol that asks you to verify its records rather than
trust them should not ask for less when it hands you a binary.

This build is unsigned

It carries no Apple Developer ID, so Gatekeeper refuses the first open with
"cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified". That error reads
like the download is corrupt; it is not. Right-click the app and choose Open, or
clear the quarantine flag:
