Brand new user of INCEpTION (39.5). I keep getting this scary-looking warning on the bottom right corner. What does it actually mean? Should I avoid using it altogether? Can I use it for myself but not with others? What installation is okay to use?

I assume you either mean the warning about the browser...?

... Firefox also tends to work ok, but Chrome/Safari and other Webkit-based browser usually work a little bit better.

Or the warning about the database...?

... by default, INCEpTION will start with an embedded database. In case of catastrophe, doing manual maintenance on
this is a bit tricky. And occasionally, one or the other user has suffered from a catastrophic event like power failure
or computer crashing or such and the embedded database is a bit more fragile in this case than a proper database (like MariaDB).
So therefore you are getting the database warning.

If you want to use INCEpTION with others, you need to install it on a shared server. And if you do that, you probably want as much
stability as you can get, so you should also use a proper database then. And then the database warning will go away.

If you just want to use it by yourself on your personal computer, make sure that you regularly export your projects as backup
and then you can ignore the database warning. In case of a catastrophic event, you should then be able to reimport your
backup exports into a new INCEpTION and continue. Mind occasionally re-importing an exported backup to make sure reimoprting
actually works is also a good idea ;)

I figure it's the warning about the database, since it doesn't specifically say anything about a browser. I was using it on Brave but tested on Edge (the two browsers I have installed) and they both give the same warning.

My plan is to use it on my own, so that's very reassuring, thank you! I'll make sure to back up and check regularly.

If you click on the warning, you should get a popup saying what warning exactly it is.

Right, that's the warning I'd copied on the subject of the question! I thought you meant that the specific warning I get might also be related to the browser. Sorry for the confusion.
