Courier v1.1.1: Display text corrections
Repairs damaged text encoding in interface labels, status messages and documentation. Arrows, symbols and punctuation now use valid UTF-8 text. Setup instructions reference this release.
Download Courier-v1.1.1-setup.exe for automatic Windows setup with the bundled .NET runtime, or use the portable ZIP.
Verification: application regression and packaged UI checks passed. The setup installer passed first install, reinstall, installed application launch, uninstall and user-file preservation checks on a hosted Windows runner.
Installer CI: https://github.com/informent/Courier/actions/runs/38151379198
App CI: https://github.com/informent/Courier/actions/runs/38151379153
Preview status: two-physical-device transfer testing and an independent security audit remain unverified.
Courier v1.1.0: Automatic Windows setup
Download Courier-v1.1.0-setup.exe for automatic setup. It bundles the .NET runtime, installs for the current user, creates a Start menu shortcut and registers an uninstaller. A desktop shortcut is optional.
- Silent deployment is supported.
- Reinstallation preserves existing user data.
- Uninstall removes installed application files and preserves unrecognized user files and legacy settings.
- The portable Windows ZIP remains available.
Verification: application regression and packaged UI checks passed. The exact setup installer passed first install, reinstall, installed app launch, uninstall and user-file preservation tests on a hosted Windows runner.

Courier v1.0.1: Application rename
Courier is the new name for OpenShare.
Updated executable, application branding, project documentation and installer names where provided. Existing saved settings remain compatible.
Extract the Windows ZIP and run Courier.exe. Keep included files together. No separate .NET installation is required.
Verification: hosted regression tests, release build and packaged application checks passed. This release packages the exact executable from that successful Windows CI run.

OpenShare 1.0.0
- Save local receipts only after confirmed, SHA-256-verified delivery.
- Retain the newest 100 transfers using atomic history-file replacement.
- Keep pairing codes, secrets, certificate data, peer addresses, and file contents out of history.
This grouped reliability update adds receiver consent, storage safeguards, usable progress feedback and executable-level regression tests.
- Review the filename, size and destination before accepting an incoming file. Approval defaults to No and expires automatically.
- Preflight disk space with a 16 MiB reserve; reject Windows device names and preserve existing files.
- Cancel sending as well as receiving. Hash large sources before connecting to avoid receiver idle timeouts.
- Show transferred size, approximate speed, estimated remaining time and the verification stage.
- Correct a clipped Send button and provide scrolling at smaller window sizes.
- Write privacy-minimized diagnostic logs under Downloads/GITHUB/OpenShare/Logs.
- Test 256 MiB encrypted transfers between separate processes, Unicode names, locked sources, blocked destinations, and failure cleanup.
- Exercise the packaged app's file picker, pairing, acceptance, rejection and timeout through automated UI tests.
Windows x64 preview. Local engine and packaged UI tests passed. Two-physical-device testing, an exhaustive DPI/accessibility review and an independent security audit remain unverified. Browser/phone peers, folders and resumable transfers are not implemented. Treat pairing codes as passwords. The app is unsigned and may trigger Windows SmartScreen. See VALIDATION.md for exact coverage and limits.

v0.2.0
OpenShare 0.2.0 preview
This grouped update replaces the initial plaintext protocol with encrypted, privately paired transfers. Both devices need this version.
- TLS 1.2/1.3 with receiver certificate fingerprint verification and a fresh 256-bit pairing secret per receiving session.
- Receiver acknowledgement only after saving and SHA-256 verification.
- No overwriting existing files; temporary data removed after failed or cancelled transfers.
- Stop receiving, bounded connection setup and idle reads, and selectable pairing codes for available IPv4 interfaces.
- Expanded automated tests cover encrypted transfers, incorrect fingerprints and secrets, unsafe metadata, damaged data, cancellation, and pairing-code validation.
Windows x64 preview. Local tests passed, including published-app window creation and graceful shutdown. Two-physical-device testing and a full UI interaction review are still pending. Browser/phone support, disk-space preflight, and per-file receive approval are not implemented. Treat pairing codes as passwords. The app is unsigned and may trigger Windows SmartScreen.
