NetHack 3.6.7 for Atari ST/TT/Falcon with the GEM tile interface, built
for a stock 4 MB machine.
Requirements
- Atari ST-class machine with 4 MB RAM; GEM AES (TOS, MagiC, EmuTOS, or
FreeMiNT/XaAES) - For tiles: 16-colour or deeper video (TT/Falcon, graphics card, or an
emulator's extended VDI; 640x480x16 recommended). ST-High monochrome
runs ASCII or the dithered 2-colour tiles.
Installation
Unzip NH367ST.ZIP, double-click nethack.prg. Run nethack.tos instead for a pure VT52 text console.
Highlights
- GEM tile interface backported from the NetHack 5.0 Atari branch:
tiles, menus, dialogs, status hilites, hitpointbar, menucolors - fits 4 MB even at 8 bitplanes (streamed strip-wise image loading)
autounlock: locked doors and boxes offer "Unlock it?" when you
carry a key, lock pick, or credit card- ships a full-featured
NetHack.cnf; F2 toggles tiles/ASCII in game
Save and bones files are not compatible with other NetHack versions.
Tested on Hatari (EmuTOS 1.4, 4 MB, VDI 640x480x16), on a
Mega ST 4 with an 8-bitplane graphics card and in ST-High,
and on a Falcon under FreeMiNT.
