inksprite v0.1.0-dev.18
Spelling and grammar in the editor, focus mode, a switch for the AI, a
library of character cards, and Export as a tree.
- The editor checks spelling and grammar as you write, the same in
every browser and the desktop app: misspellings are underlined in
red, grammar in blue. Right-click a flagged word for its suggestions,
or to add it to your dictionary or the project's. Nothing is
corrected for you, and the names in the project's titles are known
already. Settings › System › Spelling has the language (five kinds
of English), grammar, and your dictionaries. Phones keep their
keyboard's checker. - The editor has a right-click menu of its own: Cut, Copy, Copy as
Markdown, Paste, Paste without formatting, Paste from Markdown, the
link and the comment, and Insert, with Table, Horizontal rule and
Code block. In a table, rows and columns are added from its Table
items; Tab and Enter only move between cells now. - Focus mode shows the document alone, full screen where it can. Press
Option-Command-F (Control-Alt-F on Windows and Linux), or the button
at the end of the editor's tabs; the same key or Escape brings the
rest back. - The AI can be switched off, with Enable AI in Settings › System or
from the welcome. The chat, narration and the AI's settings go, and
come back as they were when it's switched on again. - Character cards, the card library and the Roleplay profiles are now
an extension, Roleplay, switched on in Settings › Extensions. It is
on where they were already in use, and off in new installs. Switching
it off hides them and deletes nothing. - The card library keeps your character cards outside any project: a
grid of portraits to search by name, creator or tag. Add cards as
PNG or JSON, dropped on it, or from a link to a Chub page, a
botbooru page (in the desktop app) or the card itself. A card can
start a project of its own, opening on a chat with the character, or
go into the open project; it lists the projects it went into, and
downloads as the file it came in. Cards tagged nsfw or nsfl have
their pictures blurred until you click the eye beside the search. - Export is a tree of your projects, with their documents and chats,
the character cards and the settings. Everything ticked is a whole
backup, as before, and the settings alone a settings file. Anything
else makes a file whose projects and cards Import adds beside yours,
merging its settings. Import also takes a project's own export.
Export and Import are under Settings › System › Data. - An OpenRouter preset can ignore providers for its model, as well as
name the ones allowed. - inksprite is now free software under the GNU General Public License,
version 3 or later, in place of the GNU Affero General Public
License. Settings › About, the terms and the README say so.
Downloads
A development build of the desktop app.
- macOS: the
.dmgending inarm64for Apple silicon, or inx64for an Intel Mac. Signed and notarized. - Windows: the
.exe. It isn't signed, so Windows warns that it doesn't recognize the app: choose More info, then Run anyway. - Linux: the
.AppImage, or the.debfor Debian and Ubuntu. If the AppImage won't start on Ubuntu 24.04 or later, install the.deb, or start the AppImage with--no-sandbox.
Once installed, the app updates itself: it downloads each new release and offers to restart into it. The .zip, .blockmap and .yml files are for the updater.
An app installed from a release before v0.1.0-dev.8, the first built with Electron, doesn't update to this one; install it over that one.
