Iridium 0.2.0

Download your Steam games directly in Iridium, manage repairs and updates, and try the updated Windows runtime. Game support remains experimental.

Download

Download Iridium (.ipa)

Requires iOS or iPadOS 18+, JIT, and games you own. You only need the IPA to install; supply your own game files or download owned games from Steam.

Install

  1. Sign and install the IPA and helper with a compatible sideloading tool, or import it into LiveContainer using its supported JIT setup.
  2. Open Iridium and configure JIT in Launch Support.
  3. Open Downloads → Steam to sign in and queue a game, or use Add Game to import a game folder. Choose its executable, add it to your library, then press Play.

For standalone installation, preserve com.apple.developer.kernel.increased-memory-limit=true in both Iridium's final app signature and provisioning profile. The anonymous ad-hoc carrier alone grants no installation or memory rights. In LiveContainer, the container process's signature, profile, and JIT setup determine effective rights; importing the guest IPA does not grant them. Both routes still need device validation.

Back up your saves before updating. Update the existing app or LiveContainer entry without deleting its data. Steam repairs and updates keep older installations; saves stored inside an older game folder may need to be copied manually to the new one. Keep that older folder until you have checked your saves.

What's new

  • Steam downloads in the app. Sign in with a password or QR code, with Steam Guard support, browse your library, and choose download language, unprotected branch, 32/64-bit files, and owned DLC.
  • A download queue with verification and repair. Pause, resume, retry, and prioritize downloads. Check for updates or repair downloaded files while keeping the previous installation.
  • Clearer storage warnings. Download checks use the space available to Iridium and account for verified partial files. Download Anyway can bypass an estimated-space warning for one attempt; file verification and real out-of-space errors remain enforced.
  • Updated Windows runtime. Includes 32-bit WoW64 support and D3D9/D3D12 updates. Support still varies by game and device.
  • Game prerequisite installers. Run supported setup steps included with a game, or choose Game Options → Run Installer for an EXE or MSI installer you provide. Some installers need interaction. Closing the player requests cancellation; Iridium keeps observing the runtime's exit and reports when a restart is required.
  • Reduced duplicate runtime data. Identical Windows runtime files share one packaged copy. The main app's anonymous ad-hoc signature carries only the increased-memory-limit request; helpers remain unsigned until you sign them.

Known issues

  • Physical-device compatibility for these changes has not been established. Some games may fail to launch or have graphics, video, audio, input, save, or shutdown problems. Skyrim speech and mouse attack issues remain unverified.
  • Keep Iridium open while downloading. Downloads pause when the app goes into the background and need to be resumed. Real-account downloads and recovery after Wi-Fi or network loss still need device testing.
  • Steam Cloud, Workshop, Steam Families library discovery, password-protected branches, and desktop Steam services are not included. Games that require Steamworks/DRM, anti-cheat, or other unsupported runtime features may not launch after downloading.
  • Updates keep older game copies and need extra storage. Download Anyway does not create free space; exhausting device storage can also prevent other apps from saving.
  • JIT and available memory depend on your device and signing setup; LiveContainer and standalone results can differ. Built-in JIT requires standalone Iridium, debugging permission, a valid pairing file, and LocalDevVPN. Hosted Iridium uses external JIT. Recipient signing, LiveContainer hosting, and game prerequisite success still need device testing.

Source and licenses

The other release files are for source access, rebuilding, and download verification:

  • Download both Iridium-corresponding-source.tar.gz.part01 and .part02 for the complete matching source package.
  • Iridium-source-guide.zip contains license notices, source records, and build/relink instructions.
  • SHA256SUMS verifies the IPA, both source parts, and the source guide.

Download all five release files into one folder, then run:

shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS
cat Iridium-corresponding-source.tar.gz.part01 Iridium-corresponding-source.tar.gz.part02 > Iridium-corresponding-source.tar.gz
unzip Iridium-source-guide.zip
shasum -a 256 -c Iridium-source-guide/ASSEMBLED-SHA256SUMS

The source guide includes the assembled archive's checksum and rebuild instructions. Keep the matching source and guide beside the IPA at this versioned release URL. GitHub's automatic repository ZIP does not contain all required dependency sources.

Source commit: b7e24f9
Build run: https://github.com/intraducine/iridium/actions/runs/37142663989

App and helper version: 0.2.0 (115.1), minimum iOS 18.0, confirmed in the actual delivered Info.plist files. The IPA is 399,916,792 bytes; SHA-256 1934922a1fcf1509e305a29d6f0d26579a4318ba95dfcf5b406d5e38f88c9763.

Source checks, Steam native/simulator checks, the full app build, and final binary/package checks passed. Independent IPA inspection confirmed the exact anonymous XML/DER entitlement carrier with no CMS payload or team identity, eight unsigned non-main native binaries, strict bundle verification, runtime hashes, and ZIP modes and symlinks. Unchanged runtime component outputs were reused after provenance checks. These checks do not establish real-account login, owned-game downloads, game compatibility, recipient signing, or physical-device behavior.

Apple compiler-runtime notice uncertainty and unsigned-IPA contractual authorization remain documented risks. Retain the license guide in Iridium-source-guide.zip.

Iridium 0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@intraducine intraducine released this 29 Sep 04:10

Iridium 0.1.1

In standalone Iridium, you can now add games from its folder in Files without opening the file picker. This release also makes it easier to import a pairing file for built-in JIT. Game support remains experimental.

Download

Download Iridium (.ipa)

Requires iOS or iPadOS 18+, JIT, and your own game files. You only need the IPA to install.

Install

  1. Sign and install the IPA with a compatible sideloading tool, including its helper extension, or import it into LiveContainer.
  2. Open Iridium and configure JIT in Launch Support.
  3. Select Add Game, choose a game folder and executable, then press Play.

Back up your saves before updating. Update the existing app or LiveContainer entry without deleting its data.

What's new

  • Add games without the file picker. In standalone Iridium, put each game in its own folder under On My iPhone/iPad → Iridium → Games. Choose Add Game → Find Games in Iridium Folder, select the game, and confirm its executable. Iridium uses the files in that folder without copying them.
  • Import a JIT pairing file from Files. Put pairingFile.plist under On My iPhone/iPad → Iridium → StikJIT. Choose Settings → Launch Support → Import Pairing File → Use File in Iridium Folder. You can still choose a file directly.

Known issues

  • Some games may fail to launch or have graphics, video, audio, or input problems.
  • Skyrim speech and mouse attack issues remain unverified in this build.
  • JIT and available memory depend on your device and signing setup; LiveContainer and standalone results can differ.

Metal Shader Converter 4.0 beta 2 build dependency

Summary

Pinned Apple shader-conversion dependency for Iridium builds on Apple hardware. This is a dependency archive, not an Iridium app release.

Changes

Added

Original iOS and macOS dynamic libraries, public headers, license texts, acknowledgements, and file checksums. No full installer, command-line tool, Apple account credentials, SDK, or signing files are included.

Installation and requirements

Iridium's updated build scripts download and verify this archive automatically. The libraries are used solely for shader conversion on Apple-branded devices. The libraries retain the included Apple Metal Shader Converter agreement, including section 2.B. The headers retain their Apache-2.0 licenses. Do not treat the libraries as Apache-licensed or as part of Iridium's open-source license.

Migration and saves

No app installation or save migration. This archive is only a build input.

Verification

Source commit: 31ca8f1 (dependency-release tag anchor, not an app build).
Build run: Not applicable; extracted from the official Apple installer without compilation.

Installer SHA-256: 0e7b6c83617a0b67905614579e82031d177ed49cfaacccb0aaef6ddadf19107c.
iOS library SHA-256: 073f903be98e973ff38f4d79f2c48d61ef938754a77b1caedda79c9f05a068c2.
The iOS hash matches Madeira's upstream pin. Archive members, license inclusion, checksums, and absence of personal paths were checked. No device compatibility is asserted by this dependency release.

Known limitations

Apple's agreement applies to the dynamic libraries. This archive does not grant rights beyond the included licenses and notices. It does not include the standalone converter CLI.

Downloads and source

Download metal-shader-converter-4.0-beta2-apple.tar.gz and SHA256SUMS, then run shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS. The archive also contains a per-file checksum list.

The libraries are proprietary Apple binaries, not a source release. Public headers, their license texts and acknowledgements, and Apple's complete converter agreement are included. The README identifies the original Apple download and its checksum.
