Go to definition navigates between signature and implementation files - Go to definition resolves to the declaration in the signature file when a symbol has one, and to the matching definition in the implementation file when the cursor is already on that signature declaration
Fantomas now reports which Fantomas a folder resolved to and where it was found, and whether its daemon could be started, to the Fantomas log. Previously nothing told a tool resolved from the PATH apart from the version a repository pins.
Settings in the resolved Fantomas configuration that Fantomas could not act on - a fsharp_ setting it does not have, or one carrying a value it cannot parse - are logged and shown once per file, naming the Fantomas version that could not act on them and offering to open the .editorconfig files involved and the file being formatted. Formatting still succeeds using defaults, so until now such a setting quietly did not apply. Only Fantomas 8 daemons report these.
Changed
ENHANCEMENT Update analyzer package versions - Update the analyzer and project-system packages for FSharp.Core 10.1 and FCS 43.12 compatibility.
Update Fantomas.Client to 0.12.0-beta-002. Checkout the changelog for more details.
Fixed
The Fantomas daemons FSAC starts are now shut down with the language server. The service owning them was never disposed, so every fantomas daemon process FSAC launched outlived the session that launched it.
Fantomas failures other than a formatting error now report the message Fantomas wrote instead of a dump of the response record. DaemonCreationFailed in particular carries the standard error of the daemon that would not start, which was previously discarded.
A cancelled format request is no longer reported to the user as a formatting failure.
