Cofferly 0.2.0

Your history is now safe beyond this Mac: back it up to one encrypted file, and get back in with your recovery key, even on a new Mac.

New

  • Backups: back up your history, keys and settings to one file that only your recovery key opens. Restore it on a new Mac from the Welcome Guide, or any time from Settings › History.
  • Your recovery key works everywhere: also after a Keychain reset or on a new Mac.
  • Hide a revealed item again with its button or ⌘R.
  • Paste as Plain Text has its own button on formatted items.
  • Copy Diagnostics in Settings › General, for support. Nothing you copied is included.
  • Uninstall Cofferly in Settings › Security removes everything, Keychain keys included.
  • What's New shows the highlights once after an update.

Improved

  • Faster clicks: items select the moment you click, and filter buttons respond anywhere on the pill.
  • Calmer panel: only the selection animates, and not while you type.
  • Settings keep one size; longer tabs scroll.

Update

brew upgrade --cask cofferly

Cofferly 0.1.0

@iosswiftdev iosswiftdev released this 14 Oct 23:02

The first release of Cofferly: a free clipboard manager for macOS 26 that keeps everything you copy encrypted, on your Mac only.

Highlights

  • Everything you copy, one shortcut away. ⇧⌘V opens your history: text, rich text, images, files, links and colors. Search finds the text inside images and the app something came from.
  • Encrypted by design. History is sealed with AES-256-GCM under a key in your Keychain, guarded by the Secure Enclave. Nothing readable ever touches the disk.
  • Touch ID locking. Choose when Cofferly asks again: never, at launch, when your Mac locks, every time, or after idle time.
  • Sensitive items. Tokens, passwords and keys go into a separate vault with its own post-quantum key that opens only with Touch ID. Tiles show a mask like ghp_ •••• A9f2, never the content.
  • Cleans up after itself. One-time codes and sign-in links disappear 10 minutes after you copy them.
  • Learns how you paste. Paste as plain text into the same app a few times and Cofferly offers to make that the default there.
  • Private. No network access, no analytics, no accounts. Password managers and apps you exclude are ignored.
  • Keyboard first. Every shortcut is listed and changeable in Settings › Shortcuts.
  • Moving from Paste? Settings › History › Import from Paste brings your history over.

Install

Requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later.

With Homebrew:

brew install --cask iosswiftdev/cofferly/cofferly

Or download Cofferly-0.1.0.zip below, open it and drag Cofferly to Applications.

Then press ⇧⌘V; the Welcome Guide explains the basics. To paste straight into apps, allow Cofferly in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. Tip: create a recovery key in Settings › Security, so a fingerprint change never locks you out.

Cofferly is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings.
