WooCommerce emails can now be sent inside the same design wrapper as every HivePress email, with WooCommerce's own heading carried across and the order table keeping its WooCommerce styling, or with the message body only. The default is unchanged: WooCommerce's own layout.

New: compare before you switch. The preview panel has a layout switch for WooCommerce emails, so the three layouts can be compared before the setting is changed. The switch changes the preview only.

Changed: the Banner and Panel templates can be handed a heading separate from the subject line, which is what lets a WooCommerce email keep its own heading inside the wrapper.

• Fixed: updating two of these extensions one after the other could fail on the second with "up to date" until Check for updates was pressed again. WordPress rebuilds its update list after each update by asking wordpress.org first, and gives up on the whole list when that call is slow; the plugin now keeps its own update in the list regardless.
• Changed: a release found more than an hour ago is refreshed in the background whenever the Plugins screen is opened, so the newest release is offered rather than an intermediate one.
• New: a Check for updates bulk action on the Plugins screen, which checks every selected extension in one go, and the row that says Updating no longer shrinks on phones.

Email Studio for HivePress 1.4.0

Fixed: a test email you send to yourself no longer turns up in your notifications feed as though it were a real event.

Tests deliberately go out through the same path a real email does, so that what you check is exactly what a member would receive — which meant anything listening for a send treated the test as the real thing. Needs Notifications for HivePress 1.6.0 or later; with any other extension, or none, nothing changes.

It is centred with a table align attribute rather than an automatic margin, because Outlook on Windows renders through Word and ignores automatic margins — which would have left the button hard against the left in Outlook while looking correct everywhere else.

HivePress sends its emails with no design at all — core's email template is a bare echo of the message body. Email Studio gives you one screen for all of it.

Every email your site can send, in one list. Found at run time rather than hard-coded, so emails added by extensions you install later appear on their own — including WooCommerce's. Search, filter and sort by plugin, recipient or status.

See exactly what lands in the inbox. Previews render through the real send path, desktop or mobile, your wording against the original. Send a test to yourself before you commit to anything.

A design applied to everything. Six templates, from Clean and Minimal that stay out of the way to Bold, Banner and Panel that give the message a coloured header, show the subject as a heading and turn a plain link into a button. Set your accent, header bar, background and text colours, choose a logo and write a footer.

It reads properly on a phone. The message is laid out fluidly rather than pinned to a fixed width, so it reflows on a narrow screen instead of being cut off — and Outlook still gets the fixed-width frame it needs.

An email you have laid out in HTML yourself is left completely alone. No paragraphs added, no button substituted in. Your own designs come through exactly as you wrote them.

Write your own and send it. The Email Composer sends a message to everyone, to your vendors, to regular users or to people you pick, wrapped in your design and delivered in batches so a large list does not stall the site.

Plus: enable or disable individual emails, reset one to its original wording, a delivery log, and the attribute tokens HivePress leaves out of its own list although they work.
