• Fixed: updating two of these extensions one after the other could fail on the second with "up to date" until Check for updates was pressed again. WordPress rebuilds its update list after each update by asking wordpress.org first, and gives up on the whole list when that call is slow; the plugin now keeps its own update in the list regardless.
• Changed: a release found more than an hour ago is refreshed in the background whenever the Plugins screen is opened, so the newest release is offered rather than an intermediate one.

• New: sell SMS access through HivePress Memberships. Tick "Allow SMS notifications" on a membership plan and notification texts go only to members of that plan; other members lose the SMS choice on their Notification Settings page and see a sentence you can reword under SMS > Paid Access, with a link to your plans. Leave the box unticked on every plan and nothing changes. Texts to the administrator phone and sign-in codes are never limited, and the limit stays in force if Memberships is switched off.
• New: the hptw_sms_access filter, for sites that grant SMS access from their own membership or purchase system.

• Fixed: the API Key Secret on the Integrations tab lost its show/hide button and stretched across the whole screen when you opened Settings from the HivePress menu rather than clicking through to the Integrations tab. The secret stayed hidden either way, but there was no way to check what you had pasted. The button and the normal field width now appear wherever the secret is shown.

• Housekeeping only: nothing on your settings screen has moved, changed or behaves differently. The settings-screen code this extension shares with the others in the family was reformatted to match them line for line, so that a fix made to one of them can be checked against all of them in one go.

• The settings screens now carry the same controls as the other extensions in this family: the quick links stay in view as you scroll, a Save Changes tab sits on the right edge of the screen wherever you are on the page (a bar across the bottom on a phone), and a back-to-top button appears once you have scrolled down. Whichever of these extensions you have installed, you see one set of controls, in the same places.
• The quick links now say "Jump to a section:" so it is clear what the row of links is for, and they appear on the Integrations tab as well as the SMS tab.
• The settings styles and scripts are no longer loaded on the other HivePress settings tabs. They did nothing there, but they were still being downloaded on every tab.

• The SMS settings tab now starts with quick links that jump to each section, with a divider between sections, so the delivery options, sign-in codes, event messages and removal setting are easy to find on what had become one long page.
• Settings descriptions are shorter and easier to read: long explanations have been trimmed to the essentials, descriptions wrap at a readable width on wide screens, and the small hover tooltips next to the field labels are wider, so they no longer chop each sentence into ribbons.
• Nothing about sending, sign-in codes or your stored settings has changed; this release only tidies the settings screens.

• Fixed - sign in by SMS can no longer send a code that signs somebody into the wrong account. When two accounts held the same phone number, sign in was supposed to refuse the code; if one of those accounts stored its number in a different place, which happens with imported accounts and with some other plugins, that account was invisible to the check, so the refusal never happened. Every place a number can be stored is now searched.
• Fixed - SMS is now offered for the notification types added by other extensions. Gallery access purchased, holiday started, a moderation hold and the rest could never send a text and offered no SMS tick box to explain why, while bookings and messages worked normally. Everyone still starts opted out, so nobody receives a text they have not asked for.
• Fixed - deleting the plugin now also clears the update check's own leftovers and cancels its background update check.

Fixed

• "View details" is back on the Plugins screen. WordPress only offers that link for a plugin that has told it about itself, and this one stayed quiet whenever there was nothing to update to, which is almost always. The details popup, its changelog and the donate link inside it were all unreachable from the Plugins screen as a result.
• Checking for updates no longer holds up an admin page. The check ran while WordPress was building the Plugins screen, so on a site with several of these extensions one page load made one request to GitHub after another and could sit there for many seconds, once, before behaving normally again for hours. The check now runs in the background moments later. Pressing Check for updates still asks GitHub straight away, because you are waiting for that answer.

Fixed

• Checking for updates no longer reports "Could not reach GitHub" when nothing is wrong. GitHub allows one server only a limited number of anonymous update checks each hour, and that allowance is shared by every plugin on your site and, on shared hosting, by every other site on the same server. Running out of it is ordinary, but it was reported as though your site could not reach GitHub at all. Update checks now read the release from github.com, which sets no such limit, so the message no longer appears. If the limit is ever reached by another route, the notice now says so plainly instead of blaming your connection.
• A failed update check no longer hides an update that is genuinely waiting. The last successful answer is kept until a later check succeeds, so a pending update stays on the Plugins screen instead of vanishing for an hour.

Nothing else changes, and nothing on your site was ever at risk: a failed check only meant WordPress was not offered the update.

• SMS sign-in codes - Members with a saved phone number can sign in with a one-time code texted to them, switched on under HivePress > Settings > SMS.
• Member notification preferences - With Notifications for HivePress 1.1.0 or later active, SMS joins on-site, email and push in each member's notification settings, so they choose which groups reach their phone.
• Safety limits - Sign-in codes and member texts carry hourly limits, so a fault or abuse cannot run up your Twilio bill.

Breaking change: the Twilio auth token is no longer accepted or stored; the plugin authenticates with API keys only.

• Sites still authenticating with the auth token stop sending after this update until an API key is entered; the SMS settings tab shows a clear warning until then.
• Create a key on the API keys and tokens page of the Twilio console, then enter its SID and secret via HivePress > Settings > Integrations.
• Twilio recommends API keys for production use: a leaked key can be revoked on its own, while a leaked auth token compromises the whole account.

• Delivery errors are now visible. The SMS settings tab shows the last error Twilio reported, and clears it once a message is delivered - a trial account, missing compliance approval or bad number no longer fails silently.

• The auth token is deprecated in favour of API keys. It still works when no key is entered, and its field will be removed in a future version - create an API key in the Twilio console.
• The show/hide control is a plain icon inside each masked field, and revealing a value no longer shifts the layout.
