NEW

Choose what each edge does. The left and right edges can each be set to Brightness, Warmth or Off. If you only ever adjust brightness, you can turn the other edge off and use it for something else. An edge that's off goes back to whatever you've set for it in KOReader's own gesture settings.

Find it in: Top menu → gear icon → Taps and gestures → LiveLight → Left edge / Right edge.

Swap sides is gone. The new edge settings replace it. If you had Swap sides turned on, your edges are already set the swapped way, so nothing changes for you.

New name. Live Light is now LiveLight, with no space. Only the name you see in the menus has changed, so your settings are kept.

FIXED (IN BOOKSHELF)

Swipes on Bookshelf's shelf screens right after leaving a book. This wasn't something I could fix alone, because it was caused by a quirk in Bookshelf. But very happily, Bookshelf fixed it in their latest version, 5.5.4. So if you use Bookshelf and haven't updated yet, you should! (With an older version of Bookshelf, the swipes may still not work for up to 30 to 40 seconds after you leave a book.)

Download livelight.koplugin.zip below and unzip it. Copy the livelight.koplugin folder into KOReader's plugins folder (on a Kobo, .adds/koreader/plugins/), replacing the old one if you're updating. Then restart KOReader. Your settings are kept.

Live Light 1.1.0

Swap sides. This setting is for people who prefer brightness on the right edge and warmth on the left. It’s off by default, so nothing changes unless you turn it on.

Find it in: Top menu → gear icon → Taps and gestures → Live Light → Swap sides.

CHANGED

The brightness number. Instead of showing a percentage, the brightness level now uses the same number you’re used to on your device. On a Kobo, that’s still a number between 0 and 100. On a Kindle, it now goes from 0 to 24.

(And if you’re Nigel Tufnel, your brightness goes to eleven)

Brightness (left edge) and warmth (right edge) follow your finger as you slide, with a small box showing the level.

To install: download livelight.koplugin.zip below, unzip it, and copy the livelight.koplugin folder into KOReader's plugins folder (on a Kobo, .adds/koreader/plugins/). Then restart KOReader.
