Damage Tokens (5e)

Applies damage directly to targeted tokens using the native D&D 5e damage application system, respecting actor damage resistances, vulnerabilities, and immunities.

Target Tokens*

Use this to select the entity to apply damage to; the following entity types are able to be targeted.

Triggering Token

Use this to damage the triggering token.

Tokens Within Triggering Tile

Use this to damage all tokens within the triggering tile.

Player Tokens

Use this to damage all player tokens on the scene.

Current Action Collection

Use this to damage the current token collection.

Use Tagger

Use this to damage all tokens that have a Tag matching your Use Tagger settings.

Damage Formula*

Enter a static number or roll formula for the damage.

Damage Type

Select the type of damage being dealt:

  • No Type (Ignores Traits): Deals raw typeless damage that ignores damage resistances, vulnerabilities, and immunities.
  • Standard Damage Types: Acid, Bludgeoning, Cold, Fire, Force, Lightning, Necrotic, Piercing, Poison, Psychic, Radiant, Slashing, Thunder.

Physical Weapon Properties (Conditional)

When a physical damage type (Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing) is selected, additional property checkboxes become available:

  • Magical Damage?: Marks the damage as magical to bypass non-magical physical resistances.
  • Silvered Weapon?: Marks the damage as silvered.
  • Adamantine Weapon?: Marks the damage as adamantine.

Show Chat Summary?

  • When enabled, posts a chat message summarizing the total damage taken by each targeted actor, noting traits such as (Immune), (Resistant), (Vulnerable), or (No Type).

Visible to Players? (Conditional)

  • Appears when Show Chat Summary? is enabled.
  • When checked, the chat summary is public to all players.
  • When unchecked, the summary is whispered to the GM.

Notes

  • This action requires the D&D 5e (dnd5e) game system and will not register if another system is active.
  • Only tokens with an associated actor will be affected.
  • Uses the native actor.applyDamage() method, automatically taking temporary HP into account.
  • Any issues with this action should be logged with FoundryFan Utilities.
