BookStitch 1.0.0 is the first public release build of BookStitch.

BookStitch is a Windows application for creating complete audiobook files from local audio files, MP3/data CDs and audio CDs. It is designed as a stable, transparent and data-integrity-focused audiobook workflow, with a strong focus on reliable project states, clear UI feedback and reproducible audiobook output.

This build has been tested in real local workflows and is considered stable for practical use.

Experimental feature: Drive Circle

BookStitch includes an experimental Drive Circle feature for optical disc workflows.

Instead of relying on only one fixed CD/DVD drive, BookStitch can query multiple configured optical drives in sequence. Up to five drives can be included in the drive circle. This can make larger CD-based audiobook workflows more convenient, especially when working with multiple drives or repeated disc changes.

This feature is marked as experimental and should be tested carefully with the user's own hardware setup.

BookStitch is also available in the Microsoft Store:

For the standard Windows installation from GitHub, download and run:

• BookStitch-Setup-1.0.0.exe

For the portable package, download and extract:

• BookStitch-Portable-1.0.0.zip

Then run BookStitch.exe from the extracted folder.

BookStitch does not bundle FFmpeg or FFprobe. If FFmpeg is not available yet, BookStitch can start and configure the setup directly inside the application.

Notes

This release focuses on the core BookStitch V1 workflow:

1. select a source,
2. prepare a project,
3. secure original source files inside the project,
4. convert audio files,
5. review tracks,
6. merge the final audiobook,
7. write metadata and cover information.

The application stores projects locally and is designed to keep intermediate project state understandable and recoverable.

Experimentelles Feature: Drive Circle

BookStitch enthält ein experimentelles Drive-Circle-Feature für Workflows mit optischen Laufwerken.

Statt nur ein festes CD-/DVD-Laufwerk zu verwenden, kann BookStitch mehrere konfigurierte optische Laufwerke nacheinander abfragen. Bis zu fünf Laufwerke können in diesen Laufwerkskreis aufgenommen werden. Das kann größere CD-basierte Hörbuch-Workflows deutlich komfortabler machen, besonders bei mehreren angeschlossenen Laufwerken oder häufigen Disc-Wechseln.

Dieses Feature ist als experimentell gekennzeichnet und sollte mit der eigenen Hardware-Konfiguration sorgfältig getestet werden.
