Syncit v1.0

This is the initial release of Syncit, a native macOS application designed for real-time, one-way file synchronization between local directories and Google Drive.

Features

  • Native macOS Experience: A lightweight menu bar application built with SwiftUI for high performance and minimal system impact.
  • Real-time Synchronization: Leverages macOS File System Events (FSEvents) to instantly detect and mirror local changes (additions, modifications, and deletions) to Google Drive.
  • Secure Authentication: Integrated Google OAuth 2.0 implementation for secure data access.
  • Automated Maintenance: Includes an integrated Janitor Service that periodically manages and prunes remote history files to optimize cloud storage.
  • Scalable Sync Pairs: Support for monitoring multiple independent local-to-remote pairs simultaneously.
  • Local Persistence: Uses an SQLite database for persistent state tracking, ensuring reliable resumes after app restarts or system reboots.
  • Customizable Exclusions: Built-in support for default and user-defined exclusion patterns (e.g., .git, node_modules) to ignore unnecessary files.

Note on Privacy and Security

Syncit currently operates as an unverified application within the Google Cloud ecosystem. During the initial sign-in process, you will encounter an "App not verified" warning. To proceed, click on Advanced and select Go to Syncit (unsafe). This warning is due to the pending official verification process and does not compromise the security of your local data.
