Codex Daybook 0.5.10
Codex Daybook 0.5.10
Windows fix: works with Codex Desktop installed from the Microsoft Store.
- 0.5.9 could find the
codex.exeinside the Microsoft Store package, but Windows refuses to let another app start an executable inside a Store package, so login and connection checks failed. On Windows the plugin now uses the Codex command-line tool installed with npm (npm install -g @openai/codex), which reads the same conversation data as the desktop app. - A Codex path saved by an earlier Scan that points into the Store package is ignored automatically. If only the Store version is installed, Scan and login now say to install the command-line tool instead of showing a generic "Could not start login".
- No changes to sync behavior, defaults or settings format. macOS is unaffected.
Validation: 115 automated tests passed, the dependency audit found no known vulnerabilities, and a clean rebuild from the source ZIP matched the release artifacts byte-for-byte. On a real Windows machine, starting the Store package's codex.exe from Obsidian failed with EPERM, while the npm CLI's codex.exe (codex-cli 0.146.0) started, initialized and listed the desktop app's conversations. Login, connection check and sync through the plugin on Windows are still to be confirmed; Windows hardware validation remains pending. The Community listing has not been manually reviewed by Obsidian staff.

Codex Daybook 0.5.9
Windows fix: finds Codex Desktop installed from the Microsoft Store.
- On Windows, Codex Desktop from the Microsoft Store lives in a protected, versioned
WindowsAppsfolder that is not on PATH, so Scan could not find it. Scan and automatic detection now follow the Store package's launch alias to the current version's folder and use itsapp\resources\codex.exe, falling back to asking PowerShell for the package location. - A saved Codex path that stops working after a Store update now automatically switches to the new version's location instead of failing.
- No changes to sync behavior, defaults or settings format. macOS is unaffected.
Validation: 115 automated tests passed, the dependency audit found no known vulnerabilities, and a clean rebuild from the source ZIP matched the release artifacts byte-for-byte. The Store install location and aliases were taken from read-only PowerShell queries on a real Windows machine; the detection code itself has been tested on macOS with simulated inputs only. This release is published so the fix can be installed and verified on Windows; Windows hardware validation remains pending. The Community listing has not been manually reviewed by Obsidian staff.
Codex Daybook 0.5.8
Codex Daybook 0.5.8
This release improves setup and image handling while preserving existing sync state and user-authored note content.
- Adds an optional Daily track feature that is off by default for new installs; Dataview is only required when it is enabled.
- Reorganizes settings into Basic settings and Daily track tabs, with clearer controls, folder/template/time-zone suggestions, and one-click Codex scanning.
- Imports images generated by Codex, with inline-data recovery when Codex's cached file is gone.
- Names attachment folders after their conversations and migrates older task-ID folders without losing cached images.
- Keeps a user-deleted conversation note deleted during the one-time upgrade reconciliation unless the source conversation later receives a new message.
- Updates Chinese and English documentation for the public Community listing.
Validation: 114 automated tests passed, the dependency audit found no known vulnerabilities, and a clean rebuild from the source ZIP matched the release artifacts byte-for-byte. The macOS settings flow was checked in Obsidian 1.13.7. GitHub Actions could not start its macOS/Windows jobs because GitHub reported an account billing lock before checkout; Windows hardware validation remains pending. The Community listing has not been manually reviewed by Obsidian staff.
