V1.6

@ismail-demirbas ismail-demirbas released this 08 Sep 11:20
  • Screen-aware fsync: fsync is skipped while the screen is on (reduces I/O latency during active use) and re-enabled ~10s after the screen turns off (ensures data safety on abrupt power loss). Fully controllable via /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode (-1 = auto/screen-aware [default], 0 = force disabled, 1 = force enabled) and current effective state readable via /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_status. Warning: fsync ensures that written data is immediately committed to the disk; disabling it yields significant I/O speed gains but carries a risk of potential data loss in the event of a sudden power failure. If you wish to prioritize extra security over I/O speed, you can set the mode to 1 to keep fsync permanently enabled.

  • Dynamic CPU frequency scaling: minimum CPU frequency stays at 1536MHz while the screen is on for responsiveness, and drops to hardware minimum ~60s after the screen turns off to save power.

  • Dynamic GPU frequency scaling: same logic applied to GPU minimum frequency.

  • ZSTD ZRAM compression: replaced default LZO-RLE with ZSTD for a better compression ratio, which can help more background apps stay resident in memory under RAM pressure.

Controlling fsync mode manually

Root access is required.

Check current mode and status:
su -c 'cat /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode'
su -c 'cat /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_status'

Set a mode:
su -c 'echo -1 > /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode' (auto, default)
su -c 'echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode' (force disabled)
su -c 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode' (force enabled)

Via ADB (from PC), wrap the command like this:
adb shell "su -c 'echo -1 > /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode'"

Via Termux (on-device), same command works directly:
su -c 'echo -1 > /proc/sys/kernel/fsync_mode'

Resets to default (-1, auto) on every reboot.
