ByteLoader v0.1.1

New

  • Automatic Apple setup. On a PC without iTunes, ByteLoader now installs the Apple components it needs itself — Apple Mobile Device Support (for USB) and Bonjour (for Wi-Fi) — from Apple's official packages, with a single permission prompt. No iTunes install needed.

Everything ByteLoader does

  • Detects connected devices over USB and over Wi-Fi, showing model, iOS version, battery and storage
  • Signs in to your Apple ID, including two-factor authentication
  • Signs and installs any .ipa: drop it onto the window and press Install on device
  • Renews apps automatically two days before a signature expires, over USB or Wi-Fi, keeping each app's data
  • Runs from the system tray when you close the window, with an optional Start with Windows switch
  • Desktop notifications for renewals, failures, and apps about to expire while the device is away
  • Built-in guides, and an activity log of everything it does in the background

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • An Apple ID. A free one works, and apps then last 7 days between renewals; a paid developer account gives a year.
  • The Apple device components — ByteLoader installs these for you on first run if they're missing (or you can install the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store).

Installing

Download ByteLoader_0.1.1_x64-setup.exe and run it. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Good to know

  • A free Apple ID allows a single development certificate. If another sideloading tool (Sideloadly, AltServer) already holds it, ByteLoader revokes that certificate to install, and the other tool would do the same in return. Use one tool per Apple ID.
  • Your Apple ID password is used only to sign in to Apple. If you tick "Remember password", it is stored in Windows Credential Manager so renewals can run unattended.
  • Device identification headers ("anisette") come from a public anisette server; it never sees your password.
  • Wi-Fi renewals need the phone and PC on the same network; turn the switch on once over USB from the device card.

ByteLoader v0.1.0 — first public build

Sideload apps onto your iPhone or iPad from Windows with a free Apple ID, and keep them signed.

What it does

  • Detects connected devices over USB (and over Wi-Fi once you turn on Wi-Fi renewals), showing model, iOS version, battery and storage
  • Signs in to your Apple ID, including two-factor authentication
  • Signs and installs any .ipa: drop it onto the window and press Install on device
  • Renews apps automatically: two days before a signature expires, ByteLoader re-signs the app and installs it over itself, keeping its data, whenever the device is reachable by USB or Wi-Fi
  • Runs from the system tray when you close the window, with an optional Start with Windows switch
  • Desktop notifications when an app is renewed, when a renewal fails, and when an app is about to expire but the device can't be reached
  • Built-in guides for enabling Developer Mode, trusting the developer certificate, and fixing an app that stopped opening
  • An activity log of installs, renewals and reminders, including the ones that happen in the background

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • Apple Mobile Device Service, which comes with iTunes or the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store
  • An Apple ID. A free one works, and apps then last 7 days between renewals; a paid developer account gives a year.

Installing

Download ByteLoader_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe and run it. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn: choose More info, then Run anyway.
