Why this exists

The original upstream project, liya/yuki-iptv on
Codeberg, was archived by its maintainer on 2025-08-27. This repository picks up from
upstream's last commit (72a32225be) and continues development independently. It is
not affiliated with the original author.

What's in this release

This release carries the full upstream 0.0.19 feature set as-is — M3U/M3U8/XSPF playlists,
XTream API, EPG (XMLTV/JTV), stream recording, the built-in playlist editor, catchup/TV
archive, MPRIS integration, per-channel video/network overrides — plus, on top of that
baseline:

• Rebranded app icon — replaced the legacy icon with new snowflake branding
• Repo cleanup — removed duplicate files left over from the initial import
• Packaging groundwork — reorganized the distro packaging layout (build/debian,
  build/arch, build/rpm) in preparation for native RPM packaging on openSUSE

No functional/behavioral changes from 0.0.19 yet — this tag mainly establishes a clean,
versioned starting point for the fork going forward.

Installing

No prebuilt packages yet. Build from source:

git clone https://github.com/itachi-re/yuki-iptv.git
cd yuki-iptv
# install dependencies listed in build/debian/control first
python3 usr/lib/yuki-iptv/yuki-iptv.py

Debian/Ubuntu users can build a .deb via script/create-release-deb.sh.

⚠️ A note on trust

This project's name has previously been targeted by lookalike forks bundling unrelated or
malicious code. Always verify that the commit history traces back cleanly to this
repository before installing, and prefer the source/release artifacts published here over
third-party mirrors.
