Google Ads keywords match search queries loosely — close variants, plurals, misspellings, reordered words. Negative keywords match literally — no close variants at all.
This asymmetry creates an invisible failure mode: a negative can block a high-converting query without ever conflicting with a single keyword in your account. Standard conflict checkers (including Google's own negative keyword conflicts script) compare negatives against keyword text, so they miss these entirely.
These scripts compare negatives against actual search term performance history instead — surfacing every negative that is suppressing terms with real impressions, clicks, and conversions, ranked by how much value each one is blocking.
