Breeze Code 0.4.9
Breeze Code 0.4.9
Claude Code agent
Claude Code joins Codex, Antigravity and Ollama as an agent you can pick in the agent bar.
- Choose the model (default, Opus, Sonnet or Haiku) from the agent menu.
- In Ask and Plan mode Claude Code can read and search the project but can't change files. Build mode lets it edit.
- Conversations carry on between messages. If an old session can't be found, Breeze starts a new one and tells you.
- Planner, Builder and Assistant now show the logo of the agent doing the work.
Java and Rust
- Run
.javafiles with one click (needs JDK 11 or newer). Breeze finds JDKs throughJAVA_HOMEand the usual install folders (Adoptium, Microsoft, Zulu, Corretto, Homebrew,/usr/lib/jvm). - Run
.rsfiles withrustc, or withcargo runwhen the file is inside a Cargo project. Breeze also finds rustup installs in~/.cargo/bin. - Rust compiler errors link to the file and line, just like GCC errors.
- Syntax highlighting for Java (text blocks, annotations) and Rust (raw strings, lifetimes, attributes, macros). Both languages get their real logos as file icons.
- If Java or Rust is missing, Breeze shows the install command for your OS.
Split editor
- Open a second file on the right with View › Split Editor Right (
Ctrl+\), or right-click a file and choose Open in Split View. - Drag the divider to resize, swap sides, or close the split. Both sides edit the same files, so changes show up on both.
Watch agents type
- When an agent edits a file, Breeze opens it and types the change out in front of you. New lines glow briefly.
- Long edits speed up so none takes more than about 2.5 seconds. If you start typing in that file, the rest of the edit lands at once.
Sound effects
- Small, quiet sounds for clicks, menus, agent messages and tool steps.
- Turn them on or off with the speaker button in the status bar or in Settings › Sound Effects.
Source control
- AI commit messages: let your agent write the checkpoint message for you.
- Breeze checks the remote in the background, so files changed upstream show M↓ before you pull. Sync brings them in.
File explorer
- Drag and drop to move and reorder files and folders.
- Undo and redo moves, reorders and layout changes.
- Drop files from your desktop into the explorer to add them to the project.
Editor
- Indent guides, with the block around your cursor shown brighter (Python blocks included).
- HTML files now highlight the CSS and JavaScript inside their
<style>and<script>blocks.
Improvements
- The preview opens by default and shows the HTML file you have open, or the project's
index.html. When there's nothing to show, it offers a button instead of a shortcut to remember. - Pages in the preview scroll without a scrollbar, like the rest of Breeze.
- Terminal: PowerShell-style prompt, highlighted commands, and coloured errors, warnings, success messages and URLs (npm output included).
- Live Share can now be turned off from the menu.
- Images and folders attached in the agent chat: click to view full size or reveal the folder.
- Accessibility: alt text on logos, labels on buttons, and Vibe Mode now uses a real dialog.
- A development build no longer quits when the installed app is already open.
Under the hood
- Electron updated to 44.9.3. Other dependencies updated within their allowed version ranges.
- New tests for finding Java and Rust and for running their files.
Website
The website now has an interactive editor you can try in the browser. A guided tour takes you from an empty project to a coffee-menu site, a dark-mode restyle, a checkpoint and a push. The site also gained an FAQ, privacy and terms pages, and SEO fixes (sitemap, robots.txt, canonical URL).
