Release list
IVAR Offload 1.0.0 beta 9
This version changes the words of the app, not what it does. All text now follows ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English.
Download
IVAROffload-1.0.0-beta.9-win-x64.zip: most Windows 10/11 PCsIVAROffload-1.0.0-beta.9-win-arm64.zip: Windows on Arm (Snapdragon / Surface)
Extract the zip file. Then run IVAR Offload.exe. You do not need to install anything: the app is self-contained and does not need .NET. ivar-offload.exe is the optional command line.
Unsigned beta: Windows can show Windows protected your PC. If this occurs, click More info → Run anyway. Or, before you extract the zip file, right-click it and select Properties → Unblock. PCs with Smart App Control on block unsigned apps (see #1 for signing).
New in beta 9
- All text in the app, the command line, the reports and the README follows ASD-STE100 (Issue 9): short sentences, one instruction in each sentence, and one name for each thing.
- Some names changed:
- The Sort tab fields are now Source folder and Target folder.
- Look for cards is now Find cards.
- Messages say "backup drive" (not "destination"), "check" (not "verify") and "click" (not "press").
- Job logs and receipts from earlier versions keep working. The app reads their old words and shows the new ones.
- Backup and Sort otherwise work as in beta 8.
582 unit tests pass (the ASC MHL ones against the reference tool). The 45 end-to-end scenarios pass against the ivar-offload.exe in the x64 zip. The arm64 build is the same code, but nobody has run it on real hardware yet.
Known issues: the issues list tracks the open bugs. Some of them can make a result green when it must be amber (#5, #6, #8, #9). On the command line, backup without --yes exits with 0 (#14). Real cards, card readers and disconnected drives have had only simulated tests so far (#4, #3). Please report what you find.

IVAR Offload 1.0.0 beta 8
The first release as IVAR Offload, the app that was called IVAR Ingest. It follows IVAR Ingest 1.0.0 beta 7, and is now open source under the GPL v3.0.

Unzip and run IVAR Offload.exe. Nothing to install (self-contained, no .NET needed). ivar-offload.exe is the optional command line.
Unsigned beta: Windows may show Windows protected your PC: click More info → Run anyway, or right-click the zip → Properties → Unblock before unzipping. PCs with Smart App Control turned on block unsigned apps outright (see #1 for signing).
New in beta 8
- The app is IVAR Offload (
IVAR Offload.exe,ivar-offload.exe). New jobs log in_IVAROffloadfolders, and settings are kept in%LOCALAPPDATA%\IVAROffload. - Coming from IVAR Ingest or Ingest Sorter? Everything they left keeps working. Their sorts resume, verify and undo in their own
_IVARIngestor_IngestSorterfolders. A backup IVAR Ingest made is resumed, checked again and added to in its_IVARIngestfolder, and its ASC MHL history is continued. Settings and recent jobs are read from the old folders until the app saves its own. - Backup and Sort otherwise work as in beta 7.
582 unit tests (the ASC MHL ones against the reference tool) pass, and the 45 end-to-end scenarios pass against the ivar-offload.exe in the x64 zip. The arm64 build is the same code, but it has not been run on real hardware.
Known issues: open bugs are tracked in the issues. A few can make a result green when it shouldn't be (#5, #6, #8, #9), and on the command line backup without --yes exits 0 (#14). Real cards, card readers and unplugged drives have only been tested by simulation so far (#4, #3). Please report what you find.
