PodTap 0.4.1

Install

1. Download PodTap-0.4.1.dmg below and drag PodTap to Applications.

2. PodTap is not notarised, so macOS quarantines it. Clear that once:

   xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/PodTap.app

   Without this, macOS may refuse to open it or claim it is damaged.

3. Open PodTap from Finder. A setup window walks you through the two
   permissions it needs and lets you pick your key.

What it does

Turns the EarPods remote button into a dictation switch.

• Press once: PodTap holds the key you chose down.
• Talk, with the button free.
• Press again: the key comes up and dictation ends.

The button no longer sends play/pause — it belongs to dictation now,
and quitting PodTap hands it straight back.

Holding the button is deliberately not the gesture: these EarPods mute
their own microphone for as long as the button is pressed, so
push-to-talk would record silence.

Wired USB-C EarPods only. Universal binary (Apple Silicon and Intel).
